Saturday touches up a fat bird

Good Morning my darlings. I won’t be touching up ANY BIRD. Fat or thin.
 
I am getting ready to make myself pretty and heading out on a day sesh with the girls.

GOD HELP ME.
 
morning.

at some point saturday became the day when i water my plants and give them a bath.
it's such a bad idea cause when i wake up for some water around noon after going to bed around 6-7 i can't help but start dealing with them and by the time i'm done (it takes about an hour for around 50-60 plants now) i can't go back to sleep.

rant over. maybe.

Morning. Rudely awoken by the postman - I now have the book I drunk ordered a couple of weeks ago. A slim volume as it turns out.

I don't know about the right-wingers, but it might attract some new posters who are awful in an entirely different way.
 
I liked the right-wingers. It was sweet. Just as if they've only just learnt how to use the internet.

Why do you have so many plants? Are they marijuana plants?

just another extension of my mid-life crisis and battle with the meaninglessness of existence.
it started around the time when my ex had his first kid.

So they're just normal plants? I have one plant in the house, it used to be an orchid in a jar but now it's just four leaves and three twigs. A client bought it for me because it was supposed to be unkillable, supposedly you dropped an ice-cube in once a week to water it and it'd look after itself. It was dead within a fortnight.

Not sure how tending to 60 plants helps you cope with your existential crisis but if it works for you, good. I'm impressed that you manage to keep them all alive!
 
I sent an invoice for my own work today. It wasn't as hard as I had anticipated.
 
I do enjoy a house plant but 60 must be a lot to manage, I can barely keep my handful alive

i'd never heard of using ice cubes on orchids before. they're pretty easy - they just need light and a nice one hour soak once a week.

i didn't really care about plants until a few years ago. since then i've learned they're pretty easy to take care of. they just need the right light and a consistent watering plan. a bit of fertilizer in spring and summer, a trim and a repot every now and then and they thrive.
 
I did everything to the letter with that orchid. Placed it in a nice light position but not direct sunlight and gave it an ice-cube every Saturday like the instructions said and it just died. All of my plants die regardless of how much, or little, care and attention I give them. My aloe-vera died, spider plants and cacti die, a yukka plant (also supposed to be difficult to kill) too. I can't even grow dandelions in my tortoise garden at the side of the house but the front and back garden are full of them where I don't want them. Over the years I've come to believe that I must exude some kind of plant-killing bioelectric pulse. When I started at this office the boss had a thriving eight feet tall ivy plant in a pot that she'd had for over twenty years and she'd just pour a pint of water into the pot every Friday before leaving. Within three months of me taking over its care (despite my protestations) it was an ex-ivy plant. We don't have office plants anymore.
 
i guess i'm the opposite. a friend recently gave me a dying sago palm and three months later it has a ton a new growth.

there were two very big palms in the apartment i live and i almost killed them over my first two years. but i started taking better care of them and they came back to. it's definitely easier with new small plants because i think well-established ones have habits and don't take too kindly to any change in regimen and position.

the only one i've managed to kill so far is a calathea gandersii. and even that one started dying after a two-week vacation during which a friend was taking care of it. i'm not saying anything.

i really love my plants. they're like pets at this point. if i owned the place i live i wouldn't stop buying new ones.

I'm having to delete them all individually...looks as if the bot got too many posts for the board to read it as spam. Or something...an admin can clear up completely later. @Mugatu , @Indie
 
Found the quick way.

And I was right - if there are too many posts, the board won't recognise it as a spammer. Still. Job done. Looks a bit messy tho'. :(
