Rupaul’s Drag Race UK (BBC3)

As a fellow non Game Of Thrones viewer, I've previously thought how little I'm aware of any of the cast other than Kit Harrington.

The only reason I'm aware of Maisie is because she's from Bristol and all over the local press. Other than that I have no idea of any of the GoT cast. I could tell you some character names, but I have no idea of the actors.

Interesting. I've only been watching for two years, but I think I knew quite a few of them before...

And that's with Mr L watching it. If he didn't, I'd probably be utterly clueless and be AGOG that RuPaul had managed to land Maizie Williams from Boney M to be a judge.

IF ONLY!

I certainly don’t have a clue who this one is and I wouldn’t recognise anyone from Game Of Thrones if my life depended on it

That may be so, but surely it's one of those shows where even if you don't watch it, you know many of the main cast members by osmosis!

I also don’t know a single thing about it or who the cast are. I couldn’t tell you a single actor in it.

I mean, I'm amazed. It's literally all anyone was talking about at work today. But good for you all. :D

The US show could probably get Sophie

I did watch the 1st series of GoT and I have no idea who she is.

There's a dwarf, Kit Harrington, one of Robson and Jerome, Winter is Coming man, him from Queer as folk, Lily Allen's brother and an old Emma Peel.

Other than Mr L moaning about the ending and reading about it here, I've not heard a thing.

I'm not trying to claim that the show isn't massive - it's just always struck me that it is much much bigger than any of the actors in it.

I have no issue with any of the guests so far but can we get some low rent gay icons please?

Oh so we also have Jade Little Mix, Geri and Michaela Cole. I semi take it back.

It's kind of incredible that a show primarily airing on a channel that barely exists any more (BBC3) can book a recent Oscar nominee.

Is VH1/WOW producing this for US broadcast? That would make more sense.

I feel like the BBC is definitely putting some decent cash behind this, even if it's going on a channel that barely anyone watches (which probably won't make much difference given everyone'll be watching it via iPlayer either way)

The BBC have said their goal is to make iPlayer bigger than Netflix in the UK. I suppose throwing money behind a show where everyone who already watches does so on Netflix makes sense. And they have a commitment to attracting younger viewers (given the average age of the BBC viewer is over 60), so I'm pleased to see they seem to be following through on that.

Considering how uninvested I was in the last RPDR season, I’m actually pretty excited for this.

On the subject of UK drag queens, I saw Mary Mac at Pride here, and she was proper fucking great.

I find it difficult to have an opinion on Dame Twiggy.

But let's face it, if a gay my age isn't queening over her, there's obviously something wrong.

I've just bunged on a Cherly playlist for the commute and my day is already 173% better :disco:
I often find that starting my day with a selection of THE VOICE's finest hits, for e.g.

Call My Name
Parachute
Fight For This Life
I Don't Care

Results in at least 50% stronger chance of having a FABULOUS day.

Yes this is EVIDENCE BASED.

I am ambivalent at best. She’s not the TOXIC POISON that Lulu is and, let’s face it, she doesn’t pop up unexpectedly like that cunt does...

Oh god there's no getting away from manly C*rtis is there

Did they film this already?
How do you come out as straight?!
When everyone assume you're gay, I guess. Didn't Lee of Steps do it at one point? Btw, checking wiki to confirm he's not a queen now, I find this:

Evans has had a long standing private struggle with Sciurophobia (fear of squirrels). As a child Evans was pursued across a games field by three aggressive squirrels and narrowly escaped attack. Evans attributes his lifelong fear to this incident. Consequently Evans refuses to travel by air in case squirrels have managed to get on board, and there would be no escape route.

:D

That HAS to be nonsense!
