I fancy a MOJITO
Eurgh being a manager is hard. I'm so used to being liked by people I work with that I'm really struggling with the attitude of some of the staff I work with![]()
Very tempting. Especially the loud, rude, obnoxious American we've got.Hit them.

Was going home not an option?I've come back to the office rather than go to the pub![]()
The problem is one of the vets respects no one (the American) and so treats everyone like shit. They are staff Rachey. They don't have to like you, just respect you.
Oh yes, I see the problem.
Oh but also...what do I do if one of them used to be a friend and now she's a dick since I've been manager? They are staff Rachey. They don't have to like you, just respect you.

Yep. Mine and Mandy's ex flat mate. Honestly it's got to the point where I want nothing to do with but I have to manage her.Is this the one you mentioned some time ago?

And today I've applied for a job at Mountain Warehouse. Quite enjoying going for retail again, while at Uni.
Well my last job wasn't a call centre... but I'm doing this as part time work through Uni.I'd rather work on a building site than ever step foot in a call centre again. Don't blame you.

Darling the whole point of being a manager is being hated. You can’t expect to be liked. Call them cunts to the face when no-one is looking and then deny you ever said it![]()
I haven't ever thought about trying that but I might give it a go.Well my last job wasn't a call centre... but I'm doing this as part time work through Uni.
I'm not very good at being disliked.
It's more the fact I was friends with 2 of them and suddenly it seems they want nothing to do with me since I've had to get more involved in managing things. There will always be people who take a dislike to you for no reason that you can fathom and sometimes despite your best efforts to be friendly and approachable. Just go with it and ignore them until you have to talk to them. When you do have to talk to them be confident, curt and to the point then walk off when you're done and forget they exist again. It's their loss @Rachey .

Why do all solicitors come across as moneygrabbing wankers? My mum's trying to get certified copies of two power of attorney forms, they can only be certified by a solicitor or Notary Public. The Notary Public isn't interested because "I'd have to charge too much for a home visit/I only do paperwork for abroad really/it's beneath me" - she only works three days a week between 10am and 2.30pm! None of the local solicitors will do them either because "we'd only certify the copies if you'd used us to create and register the forms" aka "you didn't want to pay us £1000 + VAT for maximum £200-worth of work so we're not doing this either". It isn't like we want somebody to do it for free!
Notary publics are generally retired solicitors. It makes fuck all compared to actual solicitors work so it’s left to the old guys for a bit of pocket money...

I looked her up before I contacted her, she's a mother in her early 30s hence the hardly working during the day and not working during school holidays either. My cousin reckons her friend who's a solicitor will do it so we're waiting to hear back from her. Fingers crossed because I'm not sure how much more of this legal fartarsing around I can take.
