Island is part of Universal who have been fab recently in the UK.

However there is so much to ask Universal UK and i can’t overstep the mark so I can only ask for a few things at a time and even when digitised, I can’t then just instantly give more. Come to Life is high on the list to them.

They’ve done a good run in the last month and a half - allSTARS*, Emmie, Stephen Gately, Emmie and getting the S Club album back online.

Aww no I understand. Hopefully if she has a new album out soonish theyll see fit to get it up :]
 
Sorry - I'm always trying to ping things your way on Twitter when I see someone mentioning something that's not digitised (the second Hear'Say album was the latest one).

It's been a great run lately - if the requests are dying down a bit, is there any scope to diversify a little? The interview you did recently about the whole process was fascinating, and I'm sure other outlets would be interested in running something like that.
 
Wasn't Come To Life self-released or something? She might well own the rights herself and is too busy/tight to cough up for it to be shoved on the streaming services.
 
It was released digitally in the UK for about FOUR MINUTES before being pulled and miraculously I stumbled upon it and downloaded it just in time.

It’s not a case of the requests dying down, the requests are increasing at a rapid rate. It’s more there’s few requests to labels that are close to digitisation. I also bit off more than I can chew and had too many releases on the go that I couldn’t juggle or keep track of!

Come To Life whilst funded by Natalie (Malabor Records or something), it was licenced to Universal and they still hold rights.

Love that mix. The edit is a bit sloppy when the beat comes in though!

Next week should see an album return and the release of a single.
 
Super work as always @aquaplex – this stuff is often not to my taste but my word I'm glad someone is championing it!

I'd LOVE to know the day to day machinations of the record industry that means it make sense to let all these kind of rights expire. I'd have a fleet of poorly paid interns combing through my back cat for stuff about to suffer rights death if I had control of the reigns for a day.

I suspect it's because streaming makes virtually nothing.
 
Never heard of her, considering #11 in 1998 should be forefront of memory.

This may not fall into your pop remit @aquaplex, but if you could drop a line about the self-titled Antony & The Johnsons album, that'd be great. I'm surprised it's not there already really.
 
The whole digital platform in relation to '90s/'00s pop acts is so bizarre. It's the same with YouTube - loads of acts have licensed their videos to REALLY niche platforms. Which I guess would have been with good reason at the time, but it seems bizarre that someone like Lisa Scott-Lee wouldn't have half her not-all-that-substantial catalogue on YouTube. If the song is LIKELY to pick up a few views then surely that's the place.
 
I still remember the Moopy speculation at the time that Sex on Fire was going to be Tina Cousin's COMEBACK SMASH

Halcyon days.

It's obviously rubbish, but mixed with the video of old Tina getting felt up it really is a masterclass in how to do Z grade (fabulous) crap.

Yeah Theaudience hasn’t made it onto Apple either yet...
 
Having banged a few out a bit back, it’s been a little quiet

Universal are working on getting Theaudience on Apple - suspect the cover art isn’t HQ enough for apples standards.

In the meantime, some 2015 Eurovision
