I'm a little bit in love with Jenny Hval's freshest release, you know, that Norwegian singer who I reckon whispers inspirations in Susanne Sundfør's ears from time to time (and/or vice versa). the melancholy of the soft 90s electro airs my mind on a grey day like this

I had a dream about this song
that I had not written yet
like I used to dream of fucking before I knew how

put two fingers in the earth
into rotting plums
into the honeypot
into moist nude magazines

:horny:

I mean Ashes To Ashes is absolutely the pop song of the year...I can’t think of much else that rivals it tbh

The album seems lovely (and got a GLOWING Pitchfork review) but nothing outside of the singles is really sticking as yet...MORE LISTENS NEEDED.

I'm intrigued by Ashes but my ears are practically bleeding what with all the new music I've listened to this month. Or it could just be Mr. NL banging the new Tool album every waking moment. I'll have to find time to give it a few more plays. With those lyrics I feel like I should make myself like it.

I'll need to have this in my ear-shaped-things soon. I was stanning her as far back as Viscera (which still has the best opening line of any album ever) and I like the idea of her making a comparatively straight-forward album at this stage.

I don't think I can tire of it and I'm aching to see her live

I need to get this...I've had a bit luck waiting for price drops with her tho'...

I saw Jenny’s recent live show of this album...it was genuinely THE WORST live show I have ever been to in my life, it was like watching a student improv lesson and involved a tent, some horrendous attempts at crowd interaction and I think eggs (?) I’ve actually blocked most of it out my mind.

It wasn’t even worth the price to see Ashes To Ashes live :D

SORRY JENNY BUT ALSO NOT
