Rupaul’s Drag Race UK (BBC3)

Do we know if this is going to be shown on 'BBC3 on BBC1' that that comes on 1 most nights late or we are going to have to go on actual iplayer?

TV is so confusing these days :(

They would be mad not to. Though I suspect pretty much all fans will be watching it on the night of release. Talking of which, do we have a time it’s being released, or are they just shoving it out at midnight?

I have been looking to see if any local bars here are showing it, I’d love to go to a showing and see it with a crowd. But I haven’t had any luck so far. You’d think it would be a seat filler.
 
Surely nearer the time they are going to put it on at a certain time rather than midnight?

Incidentally I have NEVER watched any of the original series apart from a few clips here and there but I am on board for the UK version
 
All the adverts/trailers I've seen state 'only on iPlayer', I've noticed.
 
This would be a SMASH if they put it on Saturday night, a bit late, after Strictly or something, but I see what they are doing, the whole iplayer as big as Netflix type thing
 
The only on iPlayer thing is quite odd, especially with Graham Norton etc on board. Normally all the long form BBC3 stuff ends up on BBC1 I think.
 
I think considering most Brits probably watch this show online anyway, it makes perfect sense for the British equivalent to be iPlayer only. Plus, I think for much of the show's demographic, streaming services are the main way they consume television now.
 
Also, lets not forget that iPlayer only Fleabag has been one of the BBC's most buzzy TV shows.

Fleabag WAS shown on Terrestrial TV though.

Drag Race is not the kind of show that people are going to watch on terrestrial days after it’s been released on iPlayer. Everyone will have already watched it.
 
It was INCREDIBLE.

The best opening episode of the entire franchise. Having a small number of queens means you get to know them straight away. There’s so many pop culture references that I feel you don’t get with the main show.

It’s totally reinvigorated the show for me. Michelle is bringing her A-game and Alan is absolutely hysterical. Ru is still heavily sedated and has no idea what Alan is saying.

We didn’t get to see the lip sync but this has the potential to even better AS2. I cannot wait for more.

It’s going to be a massive hit for the BBC. I was scared it was going to be quite sanitised but if anything it’s the exact opposite.

The best opening episode of the franchise FULL STOP? [/not hyperbole]

What's really nice is that all the queens are given a seemingly fairer edit than in the US version, with even the obvious weaklings edited compassionately - it's VERY NOTICEABLE compared to the HORRIBLE WAY Drag Race USA edited Jaymes Mansfield in a similar-formatted episode for example.

May I add noted beacon of charisma GOTHY KENDOLL is a reality TV icon in the making :disco: Her photoshoot is absolutely incredibly, and surely a thing of future internet legend :disco:

From what I've seen Gothy Kendoll is bringing fucking nothing. I'd rather go to one of those pikey Xmas Wonderlands that are it the paper each year, with a teenage Santa, horses with antlers and melted ice sculptures, then go to one of her shows.

You just need to use a VPN, it’s piss easy to bypass the restrictions on iPlayer.
 
I've seen so much promo for this. I've just seen a report on BBC News about it, including a short appearance from Trinity.

This is going to elevate the Drag Race brand so much over here isn't it? It being on the BBC is brilliant in so many ways.

Plus Season 2 is going to be a MONSTER since all the proper good queens held back because when it was first announced it sounded like a bit of a car crash :disco:

I've just realised Mr Ag is OUT. I may see if anyone I know wants to do an FB viewing party in lieu of any decent local homosexual establishments. I did it for Eurovision and that was FUN. I suspect the local art centre would probably oblige.

Or I'll just COME HERE.

There’s a couple of places here in Glasgow showing it every week but I’ll just be out of hospital and not up for it this week at least, so an well up for a Moopy viewing party! :disco:

I wonder if I'll be able to watch this online as it goes out or I'll have to wait for torrents. If someone abroad figures out how to do it just tell me, please.
