RPDR UK S1 E3 (spoilers)

The Vivienne is obviously the biggest cunt, but (so far) she's got the talent to back it up. She's still not THAT cunty in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway, in terms of queens, my positions on how good I think they are and in brackets how much I like them:

5. Cheryl (5)

7. Sum Ting Wong (2)
 
I’m a little disappointed Vinegar left before Snatch Game, but three weeks in a row of looking shockingly busted is hard to forgive.

I think Cheryl will redeem herself next week, she’s got to have a good Gemma Collins in her back pocket, surely.

Blu, Sum Ting and Crystal look vulnerable. I can’t see any of them bringing anything particularly exciting.
 
Are we all forgetting about Sum Tings stamp? Iconic.

I thought this wasn’t as good as the previous episodes. And I was pretty impressed by what Cheryl pulled out considering it was marigolds.

I think Davina deserved the win, it was fashion, although I was expecting her to get read for the lack of padding.

Very excited for snatch game, though.
 
I need a translator for Blu. I think I can get 50% of what she's saying.

I'm thinking she'll go next though.
 
Although Sum Ting doesn't seem like she'll do much with Snatch Game.
 
I’m not sure why Cheryl seems to be getting the most hate? She seems kind of goofy and silly to me rather than nasty.

Blu is my least favourite personally. Her shade just comes across as needlessly mean, and I think all her looks so far have been HORRIBLE aside from the pound coin. I also find it really grating how she seems to shout every single confessional. BOOT NOW PLS.

So glad Vinegar Tits has gone - should have been the first eliminated if you ask me.

I thought Divina was the spit of Tilda Swinton in her runway.
 
Are they sure they couldn’t get the rights to the tube map, because that episode was so heavily signposted

Confidence corner talking about how we just need Crystal to get one, and her trumping up how good she would be, it left a nice payoff for humble Davina after she (as @wurst put it in the Dragula thread) had her “showing vulnerability” moment. A deserved win, I didn’t really get crystal, it looked good but it was just a load of objéts.

Crystal leaves me totally cold so far, the body hair isn’t nearly as shocking and interesting as she keeps saying it is, and she’s totally humourless.

Where’s that Emily Thornberry sass smilie? Davina did a great one in her talking head

Vinegar was being given the Latrice edit of S4 in the first episodes, but ended up with the AS4 Latrice vibe, overconfident and looked like shit, good riddance. Hodgepodge was a brutal read, not a hashtag.

Sum Ting Wong is getting a bit annoying, her attitude and manic blinking, and that crap runway. Was she holding her elbows out just to hold the thing together?

I like Cheryl, I could do without the tongue pops but her runway was fun and I loved her lipstick.

the Viv and Baga were embracing the villain storyline this time. Baga didn’t really give good talking head this time, just gawping head. Runway wasn’t great (I liked the hair though)

Blu didn’t quite get her moment but I thought she looked alright.

I though Crystal's look was amazing and didn't read as a load of objects at all. But Divina was still a deserved winner.

Crystal has only addressed the body hair issue when asked, hasn't she? And it has been brought up more than once.
 
I have no issue with Crystal’s body hair, but I thought the two misshapen globes at her hips looked pretty crap and detracted from an otherwise strong look.
 
There's no way Baga deserved to be safe, that arse looked like an open drawer she was dragging behind her, wtf! They obviously need her for talking heads.
 
I'm ok with vinegar going home, she had funny moments but good grief that outfit had absolutely nothing redeeming about it.
 
And Ru loves a comedy queen. Baga knew she was shite and shouldn't have got away with it.
 
Also Davina is really growing on me now, her runway was stellar. Though I agree she needed eyelashes.

The Vivienne might be beginning to revel in her outer cunt, so she may as well keep going with it. I just want more Kim Woodburn and she can be as Pete Burns on Big Brother as she likes.

Baga's ensemble was probably the worst of the entire lot, but I'm more than fine with her coasting on grubby.

Cheryl Hole and her mostly knowing faces might make her the one I'm rooting for the most. Maybe Viv is even a bit threatened as arguably she's yet to show her full hand (which considering this weeks dress is saying something).

I wonder if Davina is sharp enough to know Vivienne's Mean Girls casting call is her gateway to exploit. I certainly didn't think her Homebase Tilda Swinton was all that, but if looking like The Fame was the alternative.

I think Blue is incredibly sweet, but the 5th rate Shannel Mammographer Watkins 3 tits from last week kind of shows that her best is ultimately just cheap costumes. I'm really surprised she isn't much of an actor. I really enjoyed her hitting the ball right back at Ru though, more of that (or else more Nadine mentions) please.

Crystal may have had the attention to detail, but unless you zoomed in it just looked like those light shade globes needed yanked back and more detail on the curtains would have went a long way. Absolutely cannot bring it in any other category, one close up notwithstanding.

Real talk (shudders). Sum Ting is oddly adorable, but she has no flair and her gimmicks barrel is looking empty.

Michelle and her stapled up looking top lip is making me feel like a misogynist. I must post in the women fabulous over 40 thread to balance it out.

Lip sync was another sink. I expected much better lowbrow treats.
 


Some things they really shouldn't bother trying to make happen.

I’ve just finished the 3rd episode. The correct person left. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Drag Race and I’m struggling to get through it, I don’t think it’s for me but will endeavour to stick with it.

Messy can still be fun when done right though. I think RuPaul looked like he was about to say much more than just "messy". Vinegar's looks are also just really poorly constructed and ill-conceived. The yellow Queen Liz outfit was so grotesque.

I think maybe "Understatement" is the better word.

Not including past queens on the panel is definitely a bit of a mistake IMO. Raven (et al) would have been so much better than the so-called celebrity judges who I generally don’t even recognise :side-eye:
 
Obviously it’s never going to happen and there’s actually no point in doing it but that never stopped us hoping that Madame X might be a semi-acceptable album made by a woman with a modicum of human decency so here’s my DREAM QUEEN JUDGES
