The popularity of Blu, Gothy and Scaredy is not just based on youth (although it IS a factor ) but the fact that they are all “look” queens which plays to the Instagram format.

Actually I will say that Blu Hydrangea does have some AMAZING lewks on instagram - but clearly these aren't the sort of thing that fit within the Drag Race format, more Glow Up.

I always thought “look queen” was used rather disparagingly (see also “comedy queen”), like there isn’t anything else apart from that.

I think Blu has been doing better than that at least. I mean that Queen’s pound? The Bond Girl one was good too despite having basically nothing to do with Bond Girls (though neither did the winner Baga Chips). Her car boot outfit was decent too, though I had no idea what it was supposed to be

I got the impression that the rhubarb and custard colour pairing was totally new to them.

I'm not a seamstress, so perhaps there was a lot of skill involved, but the final look lacked any sort of WOW for me. I imagine there was probably more work gone into it than The Vivienne's, but hers had more impact, and she knows how to sell it.

So perhaps top 3 over The Vivienne, but it didn't compare to either Crystal or Divina for me.
