Morning.

Apparently it kicked off yesterday when I was out of the office. Someone had a wee meltdown and the abuse was flying.

Thrilled to have missed it, if I'm honest because it means I get to pretend I don't know what happened and "accidentally" put my foot in it.

Honestly! The work internet connection has gone down and they've got ME answering the phone

Truly the END TIMES ARE UPON US

Have fun with it. When I worked in an area that only took internal calls, we would cheer ourselves up by answering "Psycho-geriatric unit" etc etc..."Glitter Taxidermists, they snuff it, we stuff it", you know the drill.

Everyone moaning today about the decision to not turn the heating up to save the environment, and not at all to save money and therefore jobs, obviously.

Personally I'm choosing to look on the bright side and seeing this as an opportunity to justifying buying at least two new cardigans.

Money doesn't matter when it comes to heating I find. Or pet office-refurbishment projects. Or air fares to conferences that you don't need to go to and don't do anything when you are at. Money only comes up when you are trying to justify TELLING OTHER PEOPLE WHAT TO DO, i.e. do this MY WAY and it will save TIME and therefore MONEY. To which the response is generally FUCK OFF.

I must say I do enjoy your penchant for a cardigan.

I bought a new cardi the other week. Felt good. Might have to indulge in another.

My boss just asked me if I had been using the upstairs toilets because "they are still NOMINALLY the ladies' toilets". I wonder what happened. MAYBE SOMEONE LEFT THE SEAT UP :shock::shock::shock::shock::kim:

Ooh a Nigerian scam email! I've not had one for YEARS, how exciting. Apparently I'm owed $8,500,000 but some cheeky scamp in Shanghai is pretending he's my brother-in-law to try and claim it instead

You old farts with your cardigans

*does sudoku*

weird thing I found out: in the UK they use the Japanese word Sudoku, but in Japan they use “Number Play” (or at least a short version of it)

We had someone shit on the floor of the ladies last year. That was grim. :turd:

Oh I love the horror of a dirty protest. Even better when it's SMEARED :disco:

We actually had one of the cleaners walk out because of it, which is actually very sad. People might register their disgust in a number of ways but its very rarely the perpetrator who has to clean it up.

I have a couple of longline cardigans. They are fabulous for this weather.

MADAM is claiming to have been POISONED by a BIRTHDAY CAKE

Don't give me IDEAS

I can't decide whether to buy a WASHER DRYER to replace the one I had which lasted for 15 years but was always a bit shit OR a washing machine and a LOW-ENERGY HEAT PUMP TUMBLE DRIER but then where would it go because there's no room in the kitchen and apparently they don't work very well in cold places like the garage and it could go in the cupboard under the stairs but there's no power nearby or maybe it would fit in the so-called "dressing area" in the bedroom or shall I just say oh to fuck with it as I'm already rearranging everything because I've got a piano coming next week and just buy a WASHER but then how will Mr S dry the bedclothes which always need washing owing to his annoying habit of encoating himself in MOISTURIZER before going to bed. And that's what my life is like :manson:

We have a heated airer POD, which works for us. They're ugly as fuck, but that's what the spare room is for. I don't think that will remotely resolve your problem.

I am watching Corrie, and am getting very emotional. Poor Sinead. :(

I wish you would talk to us. Your anecdotes usually send Moopy in to a posting frenzy.

I've just found out where Yvvy's avatar comes from. Obey that tag...go check out the Madame X tour thread.

HMV have a nice, fun sale on apparently, but there isn't one anywhere near me these days.

I hate modern life :(

Definitely don't get a heat pump tumble dryer if it'll be going in a garage, unless you want it to still be trying to dry the clothes twelve hours later. It's one of the main dryer complaints where Mr F works because they only dry at the ambient temperature so if your garage is chilly so is your drying. You can get a condensing dryer for half the price. Yes, they might burst into flames without notice but at least they work.

I'm going to put it in my boudoir or failing that on the landing. It probably still won't work as my house is COOL at the BEST OF TIMES

Just been told by Mr F that I've given you sort-of duff information. Heat pump dryers can be like mine (a condenser one that generates hot air itself to dry the clothes) or some of the more modern ones only use air at the ambient temperature from around the machine. He says that Currys et al won't tell you that they won't generate their own hot air unless you ask.

If it helps I've got a condenser one and all you have to do is plug it in a socket (but it has to be on a hard floor, not carpet), clear the fluff out of the filter and empty the tank every few dries. There's no condensation or moist air problems from it but it's too noisy for a boudoir.
