Morning! In the office. Everyone's a bit grumpy. Not my fault they hate their job, eh?

My friend Fred (originally from Greenock) used to always call me hen, I never found it half as annoying as that Stoke On Trent term of endearment, duck.

Here it's babber, complete with rhotic r. I don't believe I've ever uttered it.

"Hen" is fine. I'm up for "hen" - it is absolutely affectionate. "Henny" is some feckin' Dr*g R*ce thing and it's annoying af.

I had to check I was using the right word. I just remembered it sounded bit like rotisserie.

When I was growing up one of the common terms of endearment was cock. Pretty sure that would earn you a punch nowadays :D

Mark E Smith was one who failed to notice the tide turning on this and he offended a few journalists without having intended to do so...mind you, this was a lot milder than what he could get up to if he was actively trying to offend a journalist.

I'm supposed to be working at home again today but I really can't be arsed so I've walked the dog and been shopping. Now I'm going to make a pan of "low-fat" tater ash for Mr F's tea then I won't feel quite as bad about scoffing chinese in front of him later.

I’ve been to the gym, put tomorrows ragú on a low heat and now I’m in the bath with weed and wine listening to The Beautiful South.

Is that roast with potatoes and onions all mashed together? Yum.

I am sitting drinking wine. I love nothing days.

Although, truth be told a chinese sounds pretty incredible right now. Plus it’s a Saturday.

It's minced steak (5% fat), onion, carrot and spuds. Stick it all in the pan with some Oxo cubes and water, bring to the boil then simmer for an hour until the spuds go soft. Basically corned beef hash but with mince instead.

Yep. I’ll have the chinese.

I'm sure my mum used to cook something like that up for the dog.

I’m not all that keen on mince. The smell whilst it’s cooking makes me feel nauseous.

I had an Indian last night for the first time in ages and it was amazing, but jesus I’ve shit for England today.
