Seriously, that's all the reason Labour, the Lib Dems and the SNP need to vote for it. The DUP are still off-message as well.

The line they're going with is that it'd be an administrative nightmare (kinda like...erm... BREXIT?) and would cause a 'six month delay'.

That's significant, because the EU have of course only granted us three.

It would only be an administrative nightmare if they made it so. Which they would. Out of spite.

Looks like we're back on - Bercow has opted not to select the amendments to extend voting rights. However, the amendment to hold the election on the 9th December instead of the 12th has been put to the vote. That's because students are more likely to still be in their study cities 3 days earlier.

If Thangam can't rely on students we could ALL be in trouble

It’s absolutely ridiculous that 16 and 17 year olds can’t vote. But along with the EU Nationals, not having them being allowed to vote only plays into the hands of the Tories. Oh well.

Labour for the first time ever. I actually like Matthew Pennycook now. Always previously been Lib Dem and last couple of times voted Green.

So 10 of those 21 unwhipped Tories have been restored. Why now? Fuck knows!

For all her MANY MANY FAULTS Theresa's election announcement was far more DRAMATIC and sudden than this SLOW MOVER.

I’ve just watched the ITV News and they went to Thurrock where they voted 72% to leave. Last election, the Tories won by 1%. Every single person they spoke to said they are voting Tory. Now it was a bit one sided as they didn’t go to any Remain constituencies but in marginal seats like this, the votes are only going to go one way.

The Tories are getting a majority. Let’s not kid ourselves.

I hope Tezza caps off her annus horribilis by losing her seat :disco:
She has a huge majority in her seat. Boris doesn't but I can't see him losing against Labour in second place.

I'll be voting Lib Dem but my seat is a safe Labour seat. last time I actually voted Labour because I was worried about a Tory swing, but it swung even further to Labour and I want to vote for the party I actually believe in.

Incidentally, I really don't believe this bullshit about Lib Dems being Tories in sheep's clothing. It's nonsense that's been perpetuated by the Labour party since they got scared of them a few months ago, under new leadership. They also wouldn't consider a coalition with either the Labour or Tory governments after the last time. Not a chance. Once bitten, twice shy.

The party that HAS changed is the Labour party, back to a left wing party (or the Corbynites anyway) - the Lib Dems have remained as they have for a long time, so by comparison they seem further right, but it's only because of the shift of the Labour party back to socialism.

I don't think it's a guarantee, but it's most likely. There are too many variables to predict confidentially.

You could be right. Id be interested to see how the stats lie on the referendum result v the election result. Those Labour seats who voted to Leave. Those Tory seats who voted to Remain.

Oh I know it's never going to happen, I'm just indulging in a brief moment of optimism before the utter shitshow that's about to unfold.

There's speculation that Boris is going to relocate to a safer Tory seat, the big coward.

If the Tories get a majority, then the reason is entirely because of Labour and their ridiculous split party and lack of leadership. Sorry to go all VOR on you, but it would be entirely Corbyn's fault for not taking a clear stance on the biggest single political issue we've faced in our lifetimes.

Sorry am I reading that correctly? We have actual Moopy posters voting Conservative? Or is it a joke?

I 1000% agree but I'm ready to be slayed by a hot winter warmer of a campaign from Corbyn. This is where he shines.

Not that it'll ever happen, but I actually think if Corbyn and Swinson did end up forging a coalition, it could be a good solution. She'd presumably be able to temper some of his more scary (to the general public) socialist policies and there'd be less likelihood of the Dems being sold down the river the way they were (and would be again if they got back into that snake pit) by the Tories.

Nancy and Broomhelga always have been, but who gives a shit about them. In my head YOU were a total Tory way back when, but I expect my judgement was CLOUDED.

I have always voted Lib Dem with the exception of Labour 2017 so clouded indeed...!

I honestly had no idea about Nancy and Broomhelga and am shocked and appalled after everything we've been through the last 3 years.

Yeah you're probably right. Unfortunately, I don't think it will even be an option available to them, even if the SNP got on board.

Hoping the lovely Brenda from Bristol has a place to stay for the next few days.

Just to say I'm here on Moopy to KID MYSELF for the next 6 weeks that there will be a Christmas miracle. I'm here for FANTASY not FACT.

Who even IS Nancy? I only know the far superior Gangsta Nancy Lam.

I'm happy to tone down my anti-Corbyn postings until the results come through in the interest of my own and the forum's sanity. Though I can't promise I won't reference the dreaded POLLS.

I hope EVERYONE is TACTICALLY VOTING this time. It's the ONLY WAY FORWARD.

I mostly agree with everything you say on the matter. Facing THAT WRATH is like a Moopy migraine. You carry on.

Yeah I'd expect to see some tactical remain voting website pop up. I already know whats going down in my area, and I'd love nothing more than to see the smuggest of smug tories SIR GRAHAM BRADY fuck right off.

I'm on a local one on Facebook. Unsurprisingly it descended into Lib Dem vs Labour.

Someone in my office said they can only vote Tory because they want fox hunting back.

Never mind that they’ve been in power for the last decade and STILL haven’t brought it back.

This is the level of utter selfish political weirdness we are dealing with.
