It's beautiful here as well. And the visibility is amazing. I can see right across the city, the Severn beyond and to South Wales from my mother's balcony. It's only 8°, but I'll take this weather over summer any day, please.
 
I have all my sons friends up to watch football. I do really wish that his friends parents were not so tight, and would shell out for the sky sports channels. In all fairness, I prefer cooking for a big crowd rather than just the 3 of us.
 
I've created a couple of suitably chilly feedback pieces for 2020's new project which is going to be a delve into pure noise, basically. Fun. Retro. Unlistenable. Attracts weirdos.
 
What a gorgeous day here too. Had a lovely run and a (yep, freezing) dip in the sea this morning and then went for lunch with my ex boss.

Really tired, I’ve spent the rest of the afternoon so far on the sofa, half snoozing and half reading. As usual, it’s been delightful.
 
I've raked up half of the leaves in the garden and put them in the green bin and it's now as full as it can be with the lid shut (the council refuse to take them if the lid is even slightly not-flush). I also spent a considerable while plugging up holes with wire wool, stones and soil (and shredding my fingers) after dropping mouse poison down into them because I think I heard "something" in the wall last night.

I now need to go and have a nice hot bath to see if I can stop the electric shocks in my spine because I overdid the bending over.
 
They’ve just launched compost bins here in various places but for some reason not where I am. It’s annoying as I’m an EXCELLENT recycler generally.
 
Actually I tell a lie, it's £21 initial charge for the bin, then £32 a year service charge.

We don't have one, anyway.

Nope, just normal Council Tax. We get a green bin for compostables (garden and food waste), burgundy bin for cans, foil and bottles, a beige bin for card and paper and a small black bin for everything else. If one of the recycling bins goes missing the council replace them for free but it's £28 for a replacement black bin.
 
We have a brown bin for garden waste, and food waste, a blue bin for paper/cardboard/cans, and a green bin for everything else.
 
Just before I went in the bath I noticed the dog only had a little water left so I got his bowl, rinsed it out and filled it up again. Took it back over to the bowl stand and went to put it in, my back spasmed and I tipped all three pints of it down the kitchen wall. Arse.
 
Is there ANYTHING more calming than watching a David Attenborough documentary at this time on a Sunday night?

I certainly don't find it calming - quite the opposite. I don't watch them as I find them distressing.

This episode only had the one murder. I had to avert my eyes at that point.
 
He's just the voice of death to these ears. Still, his can't be far away, so that's some consolation.
 
I can’t think I’ve ever SEEN a David Attenborough programme.

Ours is the same, we have a separate food caddy. All of them are free except the brown garden waste bin. Kinda annoying because I don't really have time to go to the dump yard so pay for the brown bin to be emptied during summer months only. It's free for those receiving government help though...

I have to pay £48 annually for the garden waste bin, and it gets emptied up until the end of this month, and then starts again in April. I get someone in to do my garden, so they usually fill up the bin to a point and take the rest with them. We always had a brown bin, but only over the last 2/3 years have we needed to buy a yearly permit to get it emptied.
 
Black box - paper, glass
Green box - metals, plastics
Blue box - cardboard
Brown bin - food waste
Green bin - garden waste
Black bin - non recyclables

We don't have a green bin, though. Our garden clippings etc goes into brown sacks you have to pay £1 each for (if you don't have a green bin).
 
My parents want to take me, Mr S and my brother on a cruise round the NORTHERN EUROPEAN CAPITALS next September. By my calculation it's going to cost £14K for the 3 of us. GUESS NAN WAS LOADED AFTER ALL :disco:
 
I imagine the pharmacy on a cruise is well stocked with imodium instants, flexident and corn pads.
