This is not the sort of thing I expected her to come back with, but it's quite gorgeous and the video is really something:
 
i bashed it twice... and nothing.
this is also the first time i don't find her sexy af.

oh well. i'll probably come round tomorrow to the song at least.
 
I’d sort of forgotten that she ever existed TBH, although I did recently meet someone who did her artwork for something or another

I always thought that first album would be the non-stop soundtrack to ice cold days on the 149 but I think I just stuck with Burial instead. Or the first Enigma album :side-eye:
 
what's up with the new song/video/look? if tinashe and aaliyah scissored.

in a bad way too. definitely not on board for this season.
 
It's hideous. The look. The trap beat. The moment with the feet in the video (whoever is responsible for this trend needs to be drowned).

I do wonder who her target audience is? (Beyond sweet cob.)

I haven't been keeping up with the singles/videos since being slightly put off by Holy Terrain, but I'm listening to the album now and good lord Sad Day is STUNNING.
 
I had a swoon over the take of "cellophane" she did on one of the US talk shows with Kelly Moran on piano and I'm now quite keen.
 
I haven’t even finished this album yet and it’s already a TOTAL 11/10 :disco:

The Kate Bush comparisons are ON POINT. Holy Terrain is the only low moment, and that’s not even THAT BAD.
 
i tried it but managed only a couple of tracks.

and i proper loved the debut album and ep2.
 
I can’t believe anyone could have a TEPID response to the new album. It’s divine. I usually respect differing opinions, but if you disagree in this case, then you’re surely DEAD INSIDE
 
I gave this a try and I have to say I really don't get it at all. Maybe I'm just stupid but I couldn't hear many melodies beneath the (admittedly quite striking) production.

Anyway she did a performance on Jools and it was as truly insipid, boring, tepid as you’d expect :disco:

YES to a Sad Day video! That and Home With You are just next level. So happy she’s on Young Turks who seem more than happy to let her go off and do whatever she likes :disco:
 
Everyone I know is listening to it! But then they also all vote Labour and look how successful THAT CAMPAIGN is going.
 
Nabbed this on Friday - CD, £8, Fopp - have to say, I'm more than a little bit keen. It's a very unusual overall sound-picture but she has more than enough vocal prowess to meet its demands. Definitely needs a few listens because of how much detail is in the album but it certainly impresses on first and second pass.

she dances better than Janet, sings better than Celine, and writes better than Mariah. i said what i fucking said. the reason she is so underwhelming to the public is her unconventionality. at least the critics adore her, but how can anyone deny home with you? THE most euphoric record of the 2019, no competition.

I’ve never been massively into Twigs (apart from the absolutely sublime “Good To Love”) but her feature on the Ty Dolla $ign track Ego Death is probably the pop moment of 2020.
I’ve not seen the Internet go crazy for a feature like this since Nicki Minaj slayed everyone on Kanye’s “Monster” and it’s totally deserved.

I agree that she's underrated but the comparisons with Celine/Janet/Mariah are nonsense.
 
i've been to all of these ladies' shows and i'd argue that my statement was an understatement.
 
All the YouTube comments saying they should make the twigs section into a full song :disco: Where's the lie?

Who knows. I love her making me think about it."
