Labour desperately needs a unifying figure. That won't be a Blairite, but it has to be somebody closer to the centre than Corbyn and McDonnell.

It doesn't matter whether the papers have caused his toxicity or not. There's an unlevel playing field and that is something which a Labour leader has to factor in to everything about the way they do the job. Corbyn has failed to do that on every level and it has played into the right wing press' hands.

To me, they ARE the centre. It's pretty sad to think the media has convinced people that they're a pair of hard-left communists. They ARE the true centre. Most of their policies are already in place in other European countries. They haven't a hope in the UK though, not with an extremely biased BBC and newspaper media against them.

The Brexit debate is now over. It breaks my heart, but that's it. Even if the negotiations are a shit-show, in some form or another, the UK will leave the European Union.

We need a Labour leader who can take us past this horrid, horrid chapter. Not try to turn back the clock, or unite people around the single most divisive issue of our generation.

Would it though? Traditional Labour voters going to the Tories would be lot bigger than going to the Brexit Party. It's heartbreaking, but Nigel Farage has played this very well.
