Friday is...

They've moved the team moron next to me. Apparently she's not doing enough work. So what? Why am I the sacrificial lamb?

Waiting in for someone to come and fit an energy meter. Lack of sleep last night (CAN'T THINK WHY) and would love to nap, but worried I'll miss them if I do.

Mr M is in Oxford. I wonder how he's perceiving it all

knowing him he's probably up to his neck in G&T and oblivious to it all

Well, this is just getting silly - I just got NOTHING in the Secret Santa!! The person who got me in the draw has been off all week so I've just had to sit and watch everyone else coo and laugh over their prezzies. It's just as well my dark sense of humour enjoys shit like that.

And, if we're playing the self serving tory game, I'm buying inventory in USD and selling in GBP, so the boost to the pound has been a bonus. Time to find some tax loopholes next, I'm not giving these cunts a penny I have to.

Oh this makes me feel sad for you!

In my experience of Secret Santas, getting nothing is preferable to a present about 75% of the time.

I got a huge cone shape cheese grater in our Christmas gift exchange. It’s going to be a pain to carry it on the subway to take it home.

The last Secret Santa present I had was a twerking game. Oh the hilarity.

My place takes money in dollars and pays out in pounds so we really are finally fucked now. The depressed pound was the only thing that kept us solvent last year.

Christ, now I've had a go at someone. I need to release my rage.

Mind you, the person was standing in front of the door to the toilets with her phone and glowered at me when I was trying to get past her to get in. She looked sternly at me and scolded me with "excuse me, I'm on the phone" to which I responded "so what? This isn't your personal office" and barged past her. Now she's offended.

Could have been worse - my brain's first response was "so what, I need a shit". That would have been worse.

Someone tried to cheer me up by saying it's a good time to buy from US artists on Bandcamp. The attempt to provide a crumb of comfort was appreciated but also fundamentally misguided.

Right, I think in going to pickle a few dozen eggs.

Nothing is as festive as being egg bound until Twelfth Night.

I love a pickled onion as well, but I find they need a little longer than eggs and so won't be perfect by Christmas.

I pickled some carrots and fennel last year, which were lovely with cold cuts on Boxing Day. Must head off to the greengrocer.

you could use it as a hat during transportation

I want to make UK style pickled onions but I can't get malt vinegar in this backwards country

Cider vinegar is better than white for pickling onions, but it's no real substitute for malt.

I've now told Mr M that malt vinegar will be the best souvenir to bring back home. picklefingers crossed!

Apparently, there will be Twerkpong at my office Christmas party tonight. I was asked if I was going to play and my response was, 'No, I'm 37'.

Make sure you tell him it's the big jar of pickling malt vinegar otherwise he might just bring home a small bottle that you shake onto chips.

Took the day off work, not going to my Christmas party. Went into town and there were some shaven headed white YOUTHS singing a song about ‘conquering the Midlands’. I wanted to tell them that if they died, they’d burn forever and nobody would miss them.
I’m not even sure the song had anything to do with the election, they just looked like cunts.

I've come home from work as I was just having a nice chat with some LADIES in the kitchen about the election when in pops MADAM even through she's down as OFF today to start droning on about her BEDROOM REDECORATION and I DIDN'T SLEEP VERY WELL IN A DIFFERENT BED IT MADE ME FEEL ACHEY and as soon as I got away she came into the office and CARRIED ON and on a day like today I don't trust myself not to DECK THE WHINING WORKSHY CUNT
