Third wedding of the year in a couple of hours. Why do couples have the events so far apart? 99% sure we won't go to the evening due to sheer logistics.

My mate got married this year and they just fucked the whole meal thing right off. The ceremony then a pub which they'd hired out, and people just bringing food round.

It was great, I have no recollection of leaving.

I'm glad weddings have out numbered funerals 3-1. At some point that shit's gonna change.

Mr S hasn't worked for years but he has bought my parents Christmas presents from VALVONA & CROLLA!

We've got mice living under the extension. It must be mice because the holes are too small to be rats or squirrels. These aren't housemice, they're fieldmice and we get the same problem most winters but usually they end up in the loft where they're easy to poison. This year though they've discovered how to get under the extension and it's impossible to keep them out, as soon as I block one new entrance/exit they make another so I've left the current one and set up mousetraps around the entry. The current one is ideal for traps because it's sheltered from the elements and there's a very clear single ingress/exit tunnel. Every morning this week I've gone out and the traps have been tripped but there are no mice in them. I'm baffled.

I'm seriously considering getting another pet snake.

I've got STARLINGS in my roof but I can't be bothered to do anything about it

We always have little sparrows up there but I leave them to it, they're only in the eaves and I have to admit I quite like the tweety chirruping at 5am on a spring morning when the chicks want feeding. I've spent ages at the kitchen window watching the little ones learn to fly from our roof to the trees at the end of the garden, they're so cute, except for that one time when the sparrowhawk from the Moss swooped and snatched one out of the air in front of my eyes.

My home office overlooks our back garden and the park, and my neighbour has loads of different feeders with all sorts in, so I get loads of birds flying about. The other day one of the magpies landed on my windowsill and when he chirped a little puff of his breath came out as it was so cold and it fascinated me. I've never noticed a bird doing that.

Work do last night seemed to go quite well, even if the DJ’s computer blew up and we had no disco. I just bought more booze and no one noticed.

I've been watching Murder She Wrote in bed. Still not dressed.

Not dressed either, not going to bother today. Tomorrow is for final Xmas shopping items so today is for iPlayer and tunes.

I am also doing as little as possible today as I am out tomorrow for a Christmas Day out with friends. So today my mobile is on silent, my hair is scraped back, I don’t have a scrap of make up on, and I resemble Waynetta Slob.

@Indie did I read you had an office party yesterday? Maybe it was Thursday? I had no idea these things actually took place having never worked in an office environment. Do you get pissed in the workplace? Do things not get WRECKED?

Was just lazy shorthand for works christmas do. Wasnt actually in the office.

Did have a party in the office once when they were closing the whole offices down and moving people elsewhere. They didn't give a fuck if it got wrecked that time.

Turns out my plan of going drinking for 9 hours then watching the election all night was a bit of a fail. I watched a couple of hours of the election, shouted abuse at people online, then passed out. Whoop.

It does sound quite FUN. When I used to have my salon we used to have pre drinks before we went out, but in an office with computer equipment etc it does sound like a bit of an accident waiting to happen. Surely health and safety would not allow it these days?

it's what we do all the time and nothing critical has happened yet

So, it gets to 5 pm and you dim the lights, crank the music up and get copious amounts of alcohol out from under your desk?

Forget to mention coke. Surely that plays a part?

It's Denmark. Apparently they all finish work at about 2pm.
