Tuesday is New Years Eve

I just made a large overpayment on the mortgage so either I'm feeling UNUSUALLY OPTIMISTIC or this cold is AFFECTING MY MIND

Mr S is HOOVERING the KITCHEN WORK SURFACES. I know, but it's not worth the trouble SAYING ANYTHING

Saw everyone on Facebook talking about the decade, had a look what I was doing 10 years ago, mushrooms on a thai beach. Sigh.

I’ve been to the gym and cleaned out my man bag.

I’ve also just had pate on toast as part of my last hurrah of meat eating, though that may continue until I go back to work as I haven’t had chance to have a kebab yet...

MORNING!

I've been making straciatella for tonight and now my hands reek of MILK

And now I’ve just cleared out the loft of about seven bin bags full of stuff.

I need a lie down.

I really really need to take all the OLD SHIT in the GARAGE to the tip. I see the TIDY FAMILY next door have just taken delivery of another MINI SKIP. Perhaps I'll SNEAK THE WHOLE LOT into THAT in the DEAD OF NIGHT

My tip shop is usually full of vinyl, which always makes a trip there a JOY rather than effort

I've got a bit of a hoarder dilemma, do I store all of my books in boxes or do I flog them on? I haven't read an actual book with pages for years since I got my Kindle but I've got whole collections of books from various writers and some of them (including all of my Stephen King Dark Tower series) are beautiful first editions. I know it's ridiculous to love books that I never read any more but I just don't have the space for any more bookshelves and the thought of getting rid makes me nauseous.

I'd go up in the loft but I'm afraid there may be lots of mice carcasses and I don't need to know for sure how much light is glinting through the roof slates.

Just got a bottle of Piper Heidsieck in Tesco for £15 off, only to come home and realise it's because it's the CATS special edition.

Popped to Asda for a few bits, it was a nightmare, I had to queue for fifteen minutes just to get to the till! Old bloke behind me in the queue complained that this "wasn't his job" so I asked whose it was and it turns out it's his wife's job but she's in bed ill and he bets that she's going to complain that he's bought all of the wrong things (he had apples, bananas, fishcakes, pears and potatoes on his list). I checked that it was vegetarian fishcakes she'd asked for. He'd picked up Linda McCartney ones so I had to explain there was no fish in them even though they were called fishcakes, he thought vegetarian meant they didn't have any animal meat in them and then told him where the proper fishcakes with fish in them lived, told him to get rid of three of his bananas and swap them for nicer ones, made sure it was Granny Smith apples she wanted, they weren't for cooking but for eating so I made him take those back and he came back with pink ladies so I hope all is good when he gets home.

That's me playing Crash Bandicoot during my break again - I;m seriously thinking about getting a new console now.

Happy New Year you gorgeous lot! I have been over in Ireland since Saturday and am staying in my house over here. No internet/wifi/ sky and I am as happy as a pig in shite. In the hotel in town for the NYE Ball. You can imagine how popular I am with the 2 big bambino’s. It was either that or stay with their Dad. Ireland prevailed. :D

In my dressing gown. Half a dominoes eaten. Bottle of St Emillon nearly finished. And just got my coke delivery. Best New Year ever thus far.

Gonna pop open my CATS branded bottle of champers soon and watch the fireworks on my balcony.

Happy New Year everyone. Getting over a horrendous migraine from yesterday so quite happily sat at home in comfort tonight.

I've been in bed since 9PM, managing to stay awake though. Just hope these fireworks don't wake Baby Kylie/Dannii

My neighbours are making a RIDICULOUS amount of noise too. They're in and out the garden like animals.

Went to bed, couldn't sleep due to morons setting off fireworks, got back up. Gin and generally fannying about until they get it off their chests (about 12.15, hopefully).

We had fireworks at around 9pm, but none since. Yet.

A brief explosion of fireworks. Now it's the saucepans and spoons.
