MORNING folks! Happy New Year! How are we all on this brand new day/year/decade?

Still in bed here too. I did drink a fair amount yesterday but I stopped around 11.55, as I’d had enough. Plus I had horrendous indigestion that kept me till about 2am! Think it’s gone now. I’m blaming all the cheese I ate. Sadly I think I’m gonna have to give it up, as increasingly it’s not been agreeing with me.

Anyway, lazy day planned - going to my mothers for dinner later when Mr K gets home from work. Then tomorrow is my last day it Festive Leave! :(

I feel fine. Drank in moderation and was in bed by 2. Woke at 8 and have been reading for the past couple of hours whilst Mr Sheena slept and then made breakfast, which has been an absolutely delightful bit of “me time”.

Planning on a walk along the beach, quick sea dip and then the pub this afternoon. Can’t quite decide whether to drink or not- part of me feels like I’m kinda over it.

What does Mr K do for work? He's always working!

He’s a hotel manager. Which means no public holidays, shifts etc. It’s rubbish. But it’s hard when it’s been your whole career to change to something different.

Think I'm going to struggle readjusting the body clock for work tomorrow.

I'm going to have a TRIBUTE TO GRANDMA day when I'm going to eat SMOKED SALMON and ROQUEFORT, have a glass of CHAMPAGNE and watch THE SOUND OF MUSIC :disco:

Fuck it, love, make it a bottle :disco:

Think I'm going to struggle readjusting the body clock for work tomorrow.

Same here, I feel your pain. I woke up at 6.55 this morning, looked at the clock, thought to myself "this time tomorrow I'll be feeding the dog", rolled over and went back to sleep till half past nine. Reckon I'll be like a zombie tomorrow.

While I'm certainly not PLEASED to be going back to work, I am kind of relieved. I've got a bit too lazy too quickly, even by my standards.

Besides, it's only one day in and then three more out. Hopefully a bit of time responding to emails and the like and then a lot of arsing about.

I started setting my alarm for 7 last week and intend to push that to my normal starting time of 6 for the next few days. Hopefully that’ll get me back into the routine. Also am going to set myself a proper gym schedule rather than just doing it on the fly, but went for a PT session yesterday and really pleased I’ve maintained my same levels of fitness over Christmas with just a few solo maintenance sessions.

I see according to The Times, Britain saw in 2020 on a wave of optimism. Nice.

I'm actually dreading 2020 and whatever Brexit will bring, I don't think I've ever felt this despondent about any previous new year. Looking forward to spawn's wedding in September, not the guaranteed histrionics in the lead up to it though.

We’re off up here tomorrow, so I don’t go back till Friday. Only one day though and no one else is in so I’ll probably just be checking emails and getting my work plan sorted. I’d much rather that than coming back straight into a 5 day week!

Tree down, more needles on the floor than pete dohertys bed sit. Ignoring them and watching Oliver.

I’m actually looking forward to getting stuck back into work for once.

Happy New Year everybody.

I'm about to catch a flight back home in a few hours. I dunno why, but airport breakfasts always get me excited.

Happy new year loves!

I was up until the early hours but actually don’t feel that bad today.

2020 has got off to a good start :disco:

Drinking wine and eating chocolate. When will this obesity end?

I've got work tomorrow so that's an ending - it's that lazy grazing that adds up, innit? I need to sort out this gut I've developed but the main prong of that is getting off my meds this year because that's when it started.

Yeah I reckon tomorrow will afford some sense of normality. Trying to finish off everything tonight just in case.

I'm taking a whole pile of chocolates and biscuits into the office tomorrow.

Gradually catching up on sleep

I want to go off the alcohol for a couple of weeks (I think it'd help the ol' liver recover after about 2 weeks of drinking like an alcoholic every day - reverse any fat buildup etc) but also want to go to the pub still for the people and atmosphere and my goodness it's like saying I want to go there naked. "You can't go to a pub and drink COKE! What if someone sees you?" and "but I'd feel guilty having a beer when you're just on cokes"

Plus this massive level of concern which comes across like "but.. but you're a high functioning alcoholic... you'll be all depressed..."

FFS can a guy not look after his vital organs without a doctor's note like "please excuse my patient from alcohol or he'll develop cirrhosis and die horribly"? I mean, I'm probably fine but is it so bad to look after yourself before the point that you're visiting the doc asking why your abdomen hurts and you look like a cast member of a live action Simpsons episode?

Lovely walk along the seafront, decided to delay dry January and have three pints in the pub, which was a delight. About to crack open the onion rings.

BF is working today. I'm on the cheese & onion crisps. He'll be in for a surprise when he comes home... :disco:

I had the "I feel guilty" comment a few times until I started replying "well, just have a coke or a tonic water then", the guilt evaporates instantly. The main problem I have now is that when I'm sober all of the drunk people act like knobheads and it opened my eyes to just how annoying I must have been when bladdered.

I've just bagged up some stuff for the food bank.

This is where all my unopened stuff ends up. Or the homeless shelter, though they are annoyingly fussy about what they take..

I remember how annoyingly fussy the residents at the hostel where I used to work were about what they were willing to eat :D
