Moopyvision 2010-2019 Round 5: Azerbaijan, Ireland & Slovenia (1 Viewer)

That only the top and bottom scores are revealed means that SOME QUEENS can hide behind supposed TASTE.

Girls we're ranking Slovenian Eurovision entries.

I would quite like the full vote reveal too in future rounds unless it's too much of a faff to do or something.

So much slander but so many hidden scores!

Everyone who gave Hvala Ne 12 to be forced to listen to all of the Irish entries again as punishment.

2nd: Maja Keuc - No One (152pts)

A good dose of stage presence went a long way for this leather-clad micro-Aguilera, who delivered Slovenia's highest placement of the '10s. There's not a HUGE amount of actual song there if you ask me, but she certainly gave it the right level of self-assured cuntiness, and the choreography is simple but flawlessly executed.

I've long expected to see Maja back with a better song, given how far she was able to get with this one. She's in Sweden these days trying fruitlessly to crack into Melodifestivalen instead. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN LUV.

2 x 12 (dmlaw, David_5000)
1 x 2 (lolly)

1st: Lea Sirk - Hvala, Ne! (159pts)

So in a notably diverse round, the victory goes to SLOVENIAN TRAP :disco: How fitting.

A classic case of an entry where just getting over the line to the finals was the victory, Lea's considerable charisma absolutely carried this. I mean, can you imagine the HORROR of Hannah Mancini having a crack at it?

Fun fact: Lea is a mother of three, and if her press conferences were any indication, her onstage joie de vivre largely came down to how delighted she was to be getting a break from her screaming brats back home. Eurovision - truly catering to everybody.

4 x 12 (VoR, Ill Advised, Pingu, Penelope)
1 x 1 (dmlaw)

RE: The Gimmick, I agree by the finals it was tiresome, but you're not allowed to make major changes to your performance between shows. Most of the audience only saw it the once anyway.

Oh how convenient it is not to mention that she obviously CHEATED her way to a few sympathy points by making up a technical problem. Should've been disqualified.

I'm not a massive fan of Hvala, Ne!, but I'm glad it's won for the sheer drama. That mop-topped cunt from Serbia and actual war crime Telemoveis are perfectly fine around these parts, but building a performance around an obviously staged technical issue? Send in the national guard!

OMG I just don’t know that I’m sufficiently mentally prepared for these impending CLASSICS!

Moopy getting it wrong again. Another 0 in the final will make things easier :)

I hate "trap" music and I especially hate chorus drop outs - and Hvala, Ne! literally self combusts in a second - yet, somehow, dearest Lea and the song make it work in every damn possible way.

The sheer aggressiveness, the fact her own language is so fucking unappealing coming from her mouth, she sounds like someone from the Slovenian version of Bad Girls - but it's beyond compelling!

And I loved, loved LOVED (unless I'm remembering wrong) the fact she was so clearly overjoyed to qualify, probably not expecting it for a second. As it turns out she was probably more excited to get an extra couple of days away from her unwanted children but really who cares. She deserved that mini victory. Hopefully she's given them up for adoption or sold them so she can do this forever more :disco:

I'm sure Lea will be delighted to know she's qualified once again, even if this is now the hot favourite for dead last in the final

THANK YOU! It was a true fairytale (albeit of the BROTHERS GRIMM variety) from start to finish

I do hope that @VoR hasn’t fallen into some sort of ANTI-GAY COMA as a result of the sizzling non-stop shamrock disco excitement which awaits

I'm praying for you and your favourite entry of all time not to come last. Come on Sarah! :disco:

Not wishing to spoil the big reveal obviously, but did anyone NOT use a LEAST WORST approach to voting for those wonderful songs from the Emerald Isle?

Even VoR can’t be bothered with Ireland.

Unless he’s dashed off early to his vegan mung bean soirée.

At least Sarah is mildly charming in its shitness. That isn't the case for all of them.

IRELAND

10th: Brendan Murray - Dying to Try (59pts)

Oh, God... :zombie:

Another country, another wooden spoon for a failed power ballad whose performer may well have bodies in the basement. In retrospect, Brendan's first mistake was to inhale all the helium they presumably had earmarked for the otherwise inexplicable hot air balloon.

Horrible song, horrible voice, horrible clothes, horrible gimmick. One of the toughest 3 minutes I've encountered so far.

1 x 12 (Penelope - u ok hun?)
5 x 0 (VoR, Buttertart, lolly, Kevin, superstylin')
