The next few days will be pretty crucial. The infection rate seems to be doubling every two days elsewhere. There has been a lot of overreaction but on the other side this isn’t going to go away quickly. I think we’re right to be concerned but not at the levels we are at the moment. Let’s see how things pan out...

Mine to. We have offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Beijing and others and all travel between offices has been stopped.

I've already seen some knuckledraggers saying we should close borders immediately. One didn't quite know how to handle the import of medicines to combat the virus though. Something about disinfectant.
 
I don't think we should stop forriners. I am in favour of some form of human sheep dip at every point of entry for everyone who looks a bit brown, though.
 
There's stuff on Twitter about how the planet is already benefitting from the virus what with factories being shut down and lower pollution etc...even a few talking about "the planet cleansing itself". And I thought I was a misanthropist, that's full on sociopathy.

I get so sick of the "yay! A nice plague to kill off some of us horrible humans!" stuff, you think Twitter is bad, try Reddit.... I stopped looking at /r/worldnews a bit ago but seem to recall that being a good hotspot of self loathing. (Or 'every human except myself' loathing, plenty of that too)

An 85% chance of survival for those over 80 doesn't seem TOO BAD, obviously still not great if your granny is one of the 15%.

If I was a conspiracy nut I'd find it QUITE suspicious this disease only seems to really affect people of pensionable age, and seemingly has no effect on children.

Someone evil bastard has pointed out that it doesn't matter if you wash yr hands or not because if the previous person didn't and you touch the shiny metal door handle, kaboom.

We now have people demanding gloves.

We have more tourists than any other European country, how the hell are they going to stop this now that we already have nice weather? Ugh. :gross:

It's guidance to prevent it being passed on rather than preventing anyone catching it, isn't it? Even my mother twigged that, as much as she's scrubbing her hands red raw currently,
 
Are any of us planning on wearing a mask if it all gets particularly frightening? I think I might pass on that, although I suppose it would cleverly and conveniently hide the dull and ageing skin :disco:
 
Sweden just doubled its number of corona cases today. Next time you hear from me, I’d be either in quarantine or posting from the grave.
 
I was mildly reassured when an expert on the news earlier said that the UK's plan of action was totally on point and utterly pragmatic.
