One of the Mamas is from the US and doesn't speak a word of Swedish, it must be a first for Sweden in Eurovision.

I noted when they shoved a mic in her face after they won, she went "no english" or something to that effect.

Are there any HOT STATS to look forward to?

I watched with some casuals and they were all fully Team Mamas, which probably bodes well.

I also think they'll actually sound better at Eurovision without the weird sound mixing drowning them out. It's a song that benefits from sounding a bit more 'live' than Melfest really allows.

We had a casual in our group last night and he declared the Mamas a winner from their first chorus.

I’m so gutted to have missed the moment last night

very happy with the result, the song is strong and they perform it well

I liked the no-props staging, makes a change from recent years

I liked all the top 3 TBH, I’m sure they all had a decent chance had they made it. Bulletproof just sounds like a Sia song though

John didn’t really gave a prop, did he? Unless you count the Mamas.

STOP FUNDING WIWI

Great to see the full choreography for Kingdom Come. Now to get LEARNIN' :disco:

I really think The Mamas will stand out massively in Rotterdam. There is nothing else like it in the competition, and it’s just a really straightforward, well performed breezy pop song
It's just three minutes of joy. Too Late For Love wasn't that. This is going to connect with people and do very, very well :sweden:

I couldn’t STAND Jon Lundvik last year, and I thought Too Late For Love was quite po-faced and unenjoyable.

I’m far from being a The Mamas STAN, but at least it has a bit of life/joy about it.

I think at this stage last year it felt fine; it was only in May that suddenly all of the joy had been sucked out of it.

I think the problem last year was John. He's very EARNEST. So much so it felt very forced. I filmed my friend interviewing him and it was all very over friendly felt a bit too much. Maybe he's like that in real life, I dunno. It kind feels like he is desperate to be liked.

I agree with all of this. He seems like a nice bloke, almost oppressively so. I do think he was genuinely thrilled to see the Mamas win, but tripped over himself in his efforts to show that.

I agree. I was surprised to see all the hate this was getting yesterday from fans - claims of it being a definite non-qualifier and sinking in the odds. But I can absolutely see this standing out this year, for the reason you give.

I can't tell if people genuinely don't like the song or if they're just butt-hurt Dotter and Bergendahl fans.

Absolutely the latter. I mean, maybe I completely misjudged the mood before the final but Move always struck me as being basically everybody's 2nd or 3rd favourite. But the Dotter fans on Twitter seem to be going absolutely insane over this.

Let's hope Dotter didn't get more raw votes than the Mamas when the stats come out on Wednesday because I can see that really setting them off. :eyes:

I think it's already been confirmed she didn't. On Sunday SVT tweeted out something about how if it had been a tie with the scores, instead of that one point difference, then The Mamas would still have won as they received more votes from the public.

I feel bad for slagging Dotter off now after she agreed she was a bit shit on Saturday night

I don’t understand the foaming at the mouth Dotter fans. You’d think she’d given us the next Euphoria which was a lock to win in Rotterdam. In reality Bulletproof was a poorly performed Sia parody.

I feel much SAFER in the hands of The Mamas than I would have done with Dotter on the steering wheel. One stray move and a laser could have an audience member’s eye out, and you just know that audience member would be VoR

Oh my good God at the (I'm guessing) unintended shade of this tweet from SVT's Melfest blogger last night.

Do you think The Mamas could be convinced to brighten up their stage performance with some strobe tits?
