Morning.

Had a small libation to say cheerio to a colleague last night and feeling a little wobbly. Still, this is not the time to ask for even a modicum of sympathy for self-inflicted conditions, eh? :)

Hello Moopy. I have had an AWFUL week. I got a phone call last Friday night to say my gran had a major stroke so made my way over to Ireland on Saturday so we could say our goodbyes, and had the wake and funeral. The whole week has been a whirlwind, but decided to step on a flight home first thing this morning before we are unable to get home.

Sorry Rita. That all seems to have happened very quickly.

I remember you posting you had booked a flight to Southampton and thought you were down there.

She has been going down hill gradually over the past year or so after a fall at home.Up until then she walked just over two miles to the town from her house twice a week. She had great innings for someone who smoked like a lum, and enjoyed a whiskey most days. I never ever met my grandad as he died before I was born so she has lived 48 years without him and spoke about him every day. We will all miss her greatly, but I do find some comfort in the fact that she will now hopefully be back with the love of her life.

My flight to Southampton is for a cruise in October.

Hope you’re well Rita, I was genuinely lead to believe you were stuck in St Tropez swapping fanny waxing tips with Joan Collins.

I did that to clear the air and change the subjet, the idea of Rita flying to Saint Tropez for the weekend was so absurd I thought it was obvious I was joking.

Btw sorry to hear that @Rita, hope you're ok. Sending you a big hug. x
