I will be very interested to see what happens at work tomorrow. I think they'll be very business-as-usual whilst also telling anyone with a bit of a cough to DO ONE.
 
Also, I hope the forecast isn't for rain because fuck rush-hour public transport. Early morning, 3/4s empty, I'm OK with but not that.
 
There was a tweet last night saying that Ghislane Maxwell has it. I reckon that's bollocks.

What? :square: But they would get infected anyway with younger members of the family going out and coming back home, I don't get it. I mean, I get the idea of protecting older people because they are the ones that would collapse the hospitals, but I can't see this working. :confused: Anyway, you're just days behind us, I guess it's a matter of time you all go on lockdown.
 
Re the poll: I'm not concerned about getting it myself (maybe I'll regret this but I hope I'm in relatively good health and able to cope).

I'm very anxious about the disruption to daily life though.

The thing is they'll test less people than they should, to keep the number as low as possible, because otherwise it would cause panic. The real figure is the people that need hospitalization, because they can't cope with too many people at the same time.
 
God I'm so so fucking angry at this fucking government for maintaining today's elections and having to make us choose between preserving everyone's health/our health system and preserving democracy. Fuck this shit, fuck the right.
 
I guess I'm more worried about passing it on to someone than I am about contracting it . Although I'm well over 40, I don't have any underlying health conditions and I live alone so - in theory - I'm in the bracket that would be expected to recover. However, I work with multiple people with underlying health problems. They are largely younger than me but are still at a greater risk. That's what bothers me. Modern offices are a fucking petridish.
 
Probably a bit more than slightly concerned, but less than absolutely terrified. Like others have said though, less so for the risk to me personally and more so for passing it on and societal impact.
 
I read somewhere yesterday (and I really need to stop that, I think) that 50 is the age where the fatality rate begins to tip. Until that point, the fatality rate is well under 1%.

As much as 50 is only a matter of months away, I'm hopeful that having never been a smoker and not having any major health issues, I should be safe personally.
 
I was watching Sky News earlier and they said that UK is likely to move on to the next stage to stop the virus spreading. What is the next stage? :confused:

My daughter is taking her driving test on Thursday and has a lesson a day from Monday leading up to it. She is asking me if it will be cancelled? Let me look in to my crystal ball...
 


This is how I’ve been acting and yet tomorrow I am expected to go into work and teach 30 children as normal because the UK government think that somehow this is okay? I am so angry that I am going to have to choose between what I know is the right thing to do vs what I am expected to do

We haven't either. We were going to go today until I saw a post on FB of people queueing to get into Aldi at 8am. So we are sticking with our normal Monday shop.

I'm not overly worried by the coronavirus. It's the publics reaction that is frightening me. I honestly can't believe how selfish and scaremongering people are.
