BBC News may well be topping the chart soon. The Six O’Clock News is getting figures of 9 million at the moment. :o

Launched with 2.5m in the overnights and dipped to below Channel 5 this week - but then it was all put on iplayer to binge anyway, so that is to be expected.

Suppose it being on BBC1 primetime is a big thing, but it was never going to be mainstream enough for big figures I guess just because of its premise

I don't think News at Ten has ever featured in the top 20 before (or even been particularly close), but it will be next week that we really see the news figures increase, I expect. And probably the viewing figures for most shows at the end of the week, at least.
 
The highest rated ITV news show is ITV News Weekday Teatime, with an average of 3.779m.
 
I believe Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway was doing big numbers on Saturday.

Do you have the figures for Loose Women? I have a horrible image of Colleen with a tape measure around her after typing that. I wonder if it's more bearable with or without the audience jeering and cheering at what is being said whether it contradicts their last reaction or not. The new funny big black woman who isn't Jennifer Lewis is very good though.
 
Kate & Koji is quite good for some light humour. Brenda Blethyn is fantastic in it.

Liar isn't really on my radar, despite very much wanting Ioan Gruffudd to sit on my face. Is it any good?

I'll be interested to see how well the repeats of Gavin and Stacey do in their Saturday night primetime slot.

Season 1 of Liar was FANTASTIC and is a must see. Season 2 was definitely not needed but it has still been quite good.
 
When the HELL did The Repair Shop become so popular? I thought it was daytime tv fodder.
 
I found the first episode of The Nest quite infuriating, to be honest. I imagined I'd give it up after that, but felt the second was a lot better and opened up the story a lot more.

That’s why you have to give things a chance although I have enjoyed both episodes.
 
MasterChef apparently got it’s highest ever viewing figures after being shown after BJ’s lockdown announcement.

I wouldn't have given it a chance had Mr L not been watching it anyway. As it stands I'm pleased I did, although I don't think it's much more than mildly diverting, really.

It's in the same popular 'old tat from people's houses' genre as the Antiques Roadshow isn't it. With a few sentimental backstories added in.

Those shows always seem to pull the viewers in.

The figures showing must be the week before the lockdown announcement, no? Masterchef supposedly got around 8 million last week after the announcement.

Yes, but the news figures that week were already up about 3m on the previous week.
