What we’ll get is this narrative of ‘you can’t follow instructions so we’re tightening restrictions’ causing people to do more neighbour blaming than they already are and people pointing the finger at each other instead of calling into question the Government as to why our society and health system is in the position it is in the first place!

Very clever really.

There is that too, absolutely.

But also, no single healthcare system in the world is able to deal with this.
 
This is the thing with this situation- it's the first time I think, perhaps, EVER, that I've defended the actions of a Tory government. It's an impossible situation for whoever is tasked with it.

I don't think they've been entirely RIGHT, but then WHO WOULD BE?

Absolutely. It's very easy to say they should have done this or that, when the reality is that any other government would have been clueless.
 
I think if anything this crisis has shown the essential and vital importance of having a WORLD GOVERNMENT! There’s not much each local government can do on their own.

I'm certainly not here for fantasies about how Corbyn would have done it. But I think even previous Tory/Tory-led governments would have done better than Boris Johnson, even if just on clarity of communication; he's an inveterate waffler and this time, that has potentially cost lives.

Well, one step at a time. For us in the UK, our government needs to see if there's some kind of wider multi-country Union with which they could hook up or even join.

Oh I'm not BACKING BORIS at all! He remains a MORON. And it isn't as if any of this is HIS doing.

But I still understand the way it's been handled. I haven't agreed with everything, but I don't think it's been a ham fisted DISASTER either.

Fake news. Well, not fake, but not overly problematic- they've been round for ages and are massively rare. Human to human transmission is almost unheard of.

i know i was calling for an international response earlier but to be devil's advocate today i'll say: "sure, just look at how the european union turned out and its players are somewhat close both geographically and culturally".

Absolutely, but that was always going to happen since this has been handled as an internal affair and because there’s only so much the EU with its current mandate can do on a national state level.
 
We have more deaths than China :square: Officially, because surely they're hiding corpses? I find it hard to believe. It's devastating :(
 
I imagine there's some dishonesty in the Chinese numbers because their government are... what they are. BUT they locked down entire cities, and they took a more authoritarian approach to lock downs than we have, so I can imagine that the scale of things will be worse here.
 
I've rapidly reduced my intake of news about this. Maybe one broadcast a day. Between Moopy, exercise, cleaning, uni work and streaming I've managed to till my time quite nicely. Mr Ag is a week behind me. He's currently in bed after kinda freaking out .
 
why is pornhub premium so special? i promise i can manage with the other one just fine (though i normally go elsewhere).

I had a 1 month free trial a little while back and there's more choice and lots of those 5 min preview clips appear in full. But NAH, you don't need it.

Thing is, I only got the trial as I was wanking off my tits on loads of drugs and became fixated on seeing one certain film that I actually have on a hard drive already but couldn't face walking into the other room to find...
