Moopy Live Quiz - would anyone care for it?

I was ABOUT to propose we did one of those LIVE QUIZZES that have become very popular.

I just did one with kahoot.com with my Uni and it was FUN.

However it's only free for UP TO TEN PLAYERS. £10 p/m for up to 20 players, £20 p/m for up to 50 players, then I realised it was they EXPECTED AN ANNUAL PAYMENT UP FRONT. So fuck that. There is a free trial for up to 50 players which then gets charged at £240 after a week, so again fuck that.

Anyone know of any significantly cheaper or alternative options?

I PRESUME many people would be interested if we could do it.

Although myquiz.org seems to be FREE for under 100 players.

Sounds fun - we could do themed quizzes so that way people could drop in and out depending on whether they like the topic or not.

I'm up for hosting a Eurovision one!

I really can't be arsed to run another thing right now. So if someone wants to look into it.

Oh cool. It would be great if some of us (whoever can be arsed) create different quizzes and we play them all one night. General stuff like music, or even based on Moopy, of course. I'm up to create one if more people do.

I know @Alla joked about doing a scavenger hunt but it might be quite fun to see what people could rustle up from their homes without being able to go outside.

Categories would have to be a bit more vague and bonus points would potentially be the difference i.e. the item would be "a rubbish holiday souvenir" with bonus points for the one considered the worst.

Unless @Alla objects to the blatant theft of the idea, I'll sort out the items and categories during downtime at work tomorrow. I'll try and make them Moopy-relevant but might chuck in a curveball.

It was a joke for 10 seconds but then I thought it could work if we're all in lockdown. It's actually very simple to host, you just have to think of a few things you might have at home, some dated ones to complicate it a bit, and that's it. Someone to organise this please! (Hopefully teams or at least pairs or I'm fucked)

Are we still doing this as well as the scavenger hunt? I wouldn’t mind submitting a round.

I’m still saying we should combine the scores from all of these games into an impromptu Moopy Fate.

Yeah we should totally have this as well. But we've got a bit of time to sort this out - after all, none of us are going anywhere for a few weeks, at least!

I will host a round on the differing methoxy groups found on the 2 and 5 positions of phenethylamines.

I’d love to!

We had a work related quiz on kahoot and I won! Don’t think I’d do that well on a moopy quiz.

Good, you always need an easy round to draw people in.

Mine will be a quiz called ‘sheep or cow’, in which players will have to correctly identify whether it’s a sheep or a cow from just a picture.

To be honest, I've been considering starting some kind of Moopy quizzing competition for a while.

Anyway, I've been kicking around some ideas in my head about how this could work and I might give it a shot. I'm not thinking about anything technologically advanced, just a good old post-and-PM attempt; but it would still be run in real time with speed being key.

Something like - 30 questions, released 5 at a time. You have 3 minutes to answer and PM each set. You CAN cheat, but if you miss the time deadline then you get nowt.

We'll see if I actually get round to doing it though. :)

Here for it. Thursday's aren't busy!

Although that's the night of the national pub quiz which I MUST do at some point.

Mondays and Wednesdays are my best days, although likely some coincide with some Eurovision something or other.

Mondays are super busy of late. And Wednesday is Eurovision rewatch. Although I guess it's not set in stone.
