Tuesday knows who’s boss

Was more an expression of how I feel rather than of a specific event or ailment. At least I got some sleep last night.
Oh, I thought you’d taken a tumble.
I’m absolutely KNACKERED this morning. 2/3rds of the office are off, we’ve got nearly a thousand new claims to process between 10 of us, with a hundred-odd extra being added per day. I’ve agreed to work overtime on Saturdays now which, considering we should be isolating as much as possible, I’m not sure I’m too happy about.

Morning gang. Funeral day today. I wasn't expecting many people anyway but five people all required to sit apart is probably not what grannyIndie expected.

hi guys and girlies! Working from home today so I'm available for your games and shananigans :)

Ach, that's rubbish. Love to familyIndie x

aww that's bum. will you have a memorial once things are vaguely normal again? I hope you have a beautiful ceremony nonetheless

Funerals right now are the worst. Sorry to hear that, Indie.

payday and I'm already squandering on antiquarian books which will NOT get me through the imminent apocalypse

I got up, did an hour's weights circuit and now am in the office alone again. I don't think I'll ever get used to this.

In other news, MAMA SHEENA has gotten far too used to FaceTime and called me repeatedly when I was in the shower, so I panicked thinking something was wrong, got out to answer, and was greeted by her, without her teeth in, just asking if I slept ok. :manson: :D

How do I post an audio file on here? I've just found Faloola singing 'Rice Rice baby'

RICE RICE LADY actually.

You could post it to youtube and then upload.

That’s horrible. Are you planning any sort of event to give her a proper send off when all this is over?

Probably not. We're a small family anyway so about 10 people was most that could have been expected. It's the weirdness of having to stay 2 meters apart which is going to be odd and you can't replicate that.

Either way, I'm just grateful to be able to go. That might not be the case in a month.

Use that thing folk are using in the read out a Moopy post thread, Vocaroo or whatever it is - all of mine have been recorded on my phone and then uploaded.

My NHS Volunteer Responder thing has just been approved. Quite excited- hope I actually get to help, though I fear competition will be so fierce that it's KINDA UNLIKELY.

And to cheer things up even further today (and BY GOD I need it!), I just won a photo competition! :D

Apparently I get a goodie bag of swimming stuff and the chance at a swimming holiday if I win the annual prize. That's perked me RIGHT UP.

I've just had a QUITE FABULOUS patio parasol delivered from JOHN LEWIS

That'll make sure it RAINS until SEPTEMBER. SORRY LOVES [/eeyore]

Mr Sheena went and ordered us a HAMMOCK for the balcony to get us through this CORONALOCKDOWN. Admittedly, he was drunk when he did it so BUGGER ONLY KNOWS what's going to turn up, but STILL...

I've been to Lidl this morning to get some shopping for my mum and aunt. Didn't need anything for myself, but did buy a shrub and a couple of flowering plants for the front garden, which is already looking tidier than it has for about 5 years.

I almost felt GUILTY shopping for something as FRIVOLOUS as plants, though. Most odd.

I can't decide what to do about going to B&Q. They're open- it's considered essential- but all I want is some compost and some paint, neither of which is ESSENTIAL. But surely the government's advice suggests that that's TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE. Or is it?

I don't think there's anything wrong with picking stuff up from a supermarket when you're making the trip for other stuff anyway.

I think the theory is that DIY and gardening are considered essential for mental wellbeing. So go ahead and paint/soil yourself silly, and be safe in the knowledge that they're still essential.

Our B&Q has what they consider to be "frivolous" aisles taped off. You can get a lightbulb or a bag of postmix concrete but have to keep away from the cushions and soft furnishings.

Today's HARDSHIP: Ocado out of lemon and coriander houmous so delivered plain instead :(

I've been for another walk. Joggers still being STUPID PANTING CUNTS.
