A rewatch TIMETABLE

I really feel like the Meldodifestivalen rewatch was enhanced by the bewilderment and outright shock of the uninitiated amongst us. I think Andra chansen 2011 should be added to the slate so that people can better understand the thankless, inhumane process the acts used to endure just for the possibility of reaching the final.

No. I just couldn't cope with those results again.

I don’t know anything about it other than Loreen missed out

It was a frenzied knife attack on everything decent and pure. Imagine finding a wallet stuffed with cash, and then throwing away everything but the Blockbuster video card and an expired condom you found in the change pocket. That's basically what Sweden did that night.

OMG OMG OMG

There are full A Song For Europe shows from the 80s on YouTube. I don't give a shit if anyone is joining me, but I'll be on the Warninks/cheap Aldi advocaat with that later in the week :disco:

It feels like about four months since our last rewatch. I had hoped by this point we'd be on two a night plus matinees, but I suppose I can see the value in budgeting.

Anyway, 2002 tonight. I know next to fuck all about this one other than that the UK smashed it, Latvia didn't but somehow won, and Sweden sent probably my least favourite song of theirs until they went through their 'wallowing in shit' phase in the mid/late 2010s.

I always thought Come Back was fairly shit and never knew why it did so well, but I listened to it fairly recently and it still holds up actually.

I met Jessica Garlick at Butlins some months later and she signed a long-lost flyer for me. I asked her if she enjoyed Eurovision but she didn't hear me and moved onto the next person. :( Probably didn't want to answer such a vague BANAL question.

I think Come Back IS utterly average. But she turned in a really good performance of it.

Apart from the AWFUL winner I have no idea what awaits me for 2002 :disco:

I was thinking last night that I don't remember much about 2002. Then got '7th Wonder' going around in my head in an infinite loop of keychanges at the end.

Sorry, I didn't realise firstly watching A Song For Europe was a viable option, and then after it was mentioned today I didn't realise it was for tonight.

I'll have a look at some of the YouTube clips tomorrow, and pick one for midweek next week, if that's okay.

Sure, I just didn’t want you to miss out

And I fucking will do this, if only to prepare something to THWART PENELOPE'S TERRORISM

So we're watching a 21st century one this evening. So much for this.

this is how this thread originated - If we don’t lock things in and protect and declare them, splinter terrorist groups WILL emerge

Okay, candidates for drunken rewatches please. I’m making an executive decision that any rewatch scheduled for after 10pm will be closed if it’s a Eurovision from the 2000s. If we can get a decent pool of candidates, ONLY threads for one of those will be permitted.
I’m sorry to lay down the law thus, but I felt like I had as much authority as a Colombian police officer last night.

I do think 2001 should be exempted from that rule - it's so dreadful that frankly it should only EVER be a late-night rewatch

I'd quite like to do A Song For Europe 1981. Bucks Fizz and Liquid Gold on the same bill. And it's under an hour long, which is perfect for a late night viewing, or even perhaps spunking one out impromptu, like.

Right, I don't know why I'm making this suggestion knowing one of you RABID QUEENS is going tear my organs out for it but I'll do it anyway: MF should be a separate thing. I enjoyed 2009 or whatever year you made us watch but it's NOT Eurovision. There are no countries, which is pretty much half the fun really. Just desperate housewives, and I'm not really into THAT :(

I agree MF is very much a different thing. But I think MF is fine for a late night rewatch after an ESC, if people are gagging for more. Just not instead of the main event.

That's why it was ELEVEN AT NIGHT!!

This post reads so much like a curious guy the morning after trying anal for the first time :D

Have your SEPARATE MF rewatch night and a separate MF drunk rewatch afterwards. I might join for the first part :disco:
Besides last night was a PREVENTATIVE MEASURE which failed miserably because DRUNK QUEENS LIKE TWINKLY LIGHTS and are led astray.
