Moopyvision 2010-2019 Round 13: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovakia & Turkey (1 Viewer)

The return of Bosnia was so underwhelming. Not a bad song, but they just popped back, bobbed their head around the door and said 'anyone fancy more of the same?'. It just seemed so pointless.

I don't even know why I feel like "I Like Bosnia" when their songs are a snorefest.

None of them will ever top Lejla (apart from ButterTart presumably)

It's a pity that 2010s Bosnia was so terrible given that 2009 Bosnia was marvellous.

I can't wait for a surprise victory for Euro Neuro next. But my rendition (VoR remix) was much better. :disco:

I was going to say something pithy about the glacial pace of these results, then I remembered that when I actually ranked these songs Bosnia was still in Yugoslavia. I'm sure waiting half an hour between posts won't kill me.

That result ended up surprising me even though I apparently gave 12 to the winner

None of those Bosnian songs are bad but at the same time none live up to the days of Bosnia 2004 & 2005

3rd: Yüksek Sadakat - Live It Up (24pts)

The clear runt of Turkey's micro-litter from the past decade. This failing to qualify was a real shocker - not because it is in any way good or memorable, but because Turkey's diaspora was demonstrably one of the strongest in all of Europe throughout the previous decade. Maybe they were just put off by all that GREEN :gross:

Or perhaps this song simply wasn't good enough, as recent misfires from the likes of Russia, Armenia and Romania have served to prove that no country is guaranteed a finals slot except those who pay for one. Love them or hate them, the Turks could generally be trusted to at least make the effort, but this was truly listless fare that not even the inexplicable inclusion of a caged contortionist could breathe much life into.

Bizarrely, the band seem to remain hugely popular, with Spotify stats in the tens of millions. This entry does not appear to be among their most beloved chart toppers.

4 x 6 (Buttertart, David_5000, Ill Advised, Alla)
15 x 0 (Everyone else)

I don’t think you guys realise how much work this is to cobble together, particularly with write-ups. I only did it once and I still have PTSD
We're not complaining, we're just demanding and judging

I wondered for a second why in God's name I'd given this so many points, then I remembered there were only THREE songs in this round and the atrocity that was GAYBOAT had scooped my nul points.

Well it was SLIM PICKINGS wasn’t it

To be fair to maNga, as much as it is EASILY the only good song we had to choose from, it was also one of the very best in 2010, a very deserved runner-up in my opinion.

I genuinely find the WOMAN IN A CAGE in that Turkish entry to be absolutely offensive, and honestly shouldn’t have been allowed to happen on the Eurovision stage (:D)

I don’t even REMEMBER them during the rewatch, although we may have switched over to 1999 by that point :disco:
