What a weird episode name.

Anyhow, great episode and finally another good lipsync. Very Latrice V. Kenya Michaela, Widow just suited the song so well and her performance was great.

I would have put Gigi in the bottom with Widow but that wouldn’t suit the narrative.

So glad that Heidi won and also happy that Jackie, Jaida and Crystal were all given praise cause they were my favorites. Not mad that Sherry got a few lines and that runway was cool.

Poor Jan but also not that bothered, she never clicked with the judges and her over eagerness was a bit grating.
 
I liked this episode a lot. Heidi was very good and winning made a lovely story but I would probably have chosen the other three over her and put her at fourth.

Widow's lip sync was everything. I thought they might do a double save because Jan's storyline didn't seem finished, but she kind of got run over despite being very good. She was overeager but that's not a bad thing, and she was very gracious in defeat.
 
Poor poor Jan. First they finally dangle that win right in front of her nose then they send her packing. I actually wanted to see more of her. And definitely more than Widow.
 
Despite how badly she tanked the challenge, this was definitely Widow's episode. She's come off a little abrasive at times but I think the vulnerability she showed in this episode will serve her well in the long run. She absolutely slayed that lip sync, too.

Chaka Khan started off a little sleepy, but she obviously felt a connection with Widow. I screamed in Untucked when she was holding her hand and giving her a full pep talk with poor Jan looking desolate off to the side :D Talk about writing on the wall!

Sad to lose Jan, but her lip sync kind of encapsulated all her worst failings. She didn't do anything with the song, she just kept cartwheeling everywhere, while The Widow was 100% LIVING IT.
 
That was a very pleasing episode. Finally we got rid of that overeager monster. As mentioned above, the lip sync showed exsctly why she wasn’t winning. Also, she’s one of those good looking guys that become more butch in drag than out of it, and that was always in the way of her looking good in her outfits.

I didn’t think Gigi was that bad. Definitely not a top 3.

Happy for Crystal doing well again.

oh my. that ending was intense. kinda heartbroken for jan, she's a sweetheart but she's is just so academic and results-oriented. sidebar: was she edited rather poorly in that (pretty great) lipsynch? there's wasn't a soundbite from someone else for her and she seemed to be struggling with some gimmick at the beginning.

hearing everyone say widow was also sad.

I didn't subscribe to the Jan was better than Gigi opinion last week. But this week I actually did. There was nothing to Gigi's infomercial. Nothing. At least Jan's had personality, albeit OTT. I would put both Sherry and Gigi below Jan this week.

However, I think producers knew that Widow was gonna ace this lip sync, and that anybody they pitted against her was gonna have to go. It would have been tough to kill of Gigi and Sherry after they've devoured up all the wins between them, so Jan was the sacrificial lamb to the slaughter. But that's fine - I was never a big fan of Jan.

So pleased that Jaida, Jackie and Crystal all had a good episode. And super-pleased that Heidi finally got her win. She's my number 1.

she was struggling to take off the dress that they had to cut to Widow for a bit to save us.
 
When I saw Chaka was a guest judge I had hoped that they would do one of her songs from her most recent album. It would have been awesome to see either Hello Happiness or Like A Lady brought to life, and given a much wider audience.

That's exactly why I find her likable, the DESPERATION. I'm a bit sad she's gone, but I guess it was her time, judges never liked her.

And SO HAPPY for my girl Heidi winning the challenge :disco: I even clapped :shy:
 
What an EP!

Lovely hot Jan given the boot by a more worthy in the moment lip sync opponent was the gag of the season so far. Widow was awful in the challenge so definitely deserved to be in the bottom, but that's how you turn that kind of thing around. I can't see her lasting long beyond the next few weeks though, everything else is so pedestrian. See also Jackie Cox who I actually thought deserved bottom over Jan. Dull runway and barely there advert.

Heidi rising to the challenge was a joy, Gigi had me LOLLING and Jaida brought some genuine gags to the always pitch perfect runway CLASSIQUE.

Tops right now:

1. Gigi
2. Jaida
3. Heidi
 
Very pleased Heidi won and also think that Gigi should have been in the bottom, but they already knew how good a lip-syncer Widow is so it was never going to happen that way. Will be interesting to see if that brings Gigi down a bit- she seemed to be getting a bit big for her boots, I thought.

Feel sorry for Jan- I was convinced it was going to be a double save. It wasn't a BAD lipsync from her either.
 
I was astonished by Willow's lip-sync. That was sensational right from the get-go. A well deserved stay, even if I think Jan has more potential overall. It feels like Jan is another future all-stars from this season (there's been a few) because she seems young (don't know how old she actually is) and can learn from this. Her edit the last two episodes has been pretty negative and I think she's been under-ranked both weeks - her infomercial wasn't particularly funny but it was performed with more energy and enthusiasm than any of the rest of the 4 bottoms this week.

They picked the right top 4 but I didn't think they'd give Heidi the win in a million years. I was so happy but now think she'll go out in 7th place. This has happened too many times before. Token win for a fan favourite, then out the next week in a 'shock' elimination.

Jaida has been the biggest dark horse for me. Really creeping up every week.

I don't quite get Crystal but think she was a deserving 3rd or 4th place tonight.
 
It really is such a strong cast, isn't it?

The best in years. Season 9 was pretty great too and got stronger and stronger as it went along. Season 10 suffered from losing a lot of the big characters mid way though. Season 11 was top heavy but sort of unspectacular looking back.

And as much as we rave about S4-6, they really did all have a lot of fodder before you got to the big names.

I fully expect an All Stars in which half the cast are made out of this lot, a la S5 and AS2.
 
Oh yes. This cast will feature heavily on AllStars because the season itself is going to be swept under a rug as soon as possible.

That's a good point actually, and it will also give them the post show career experience that they can't really have right now for obvious reasons.
 
Wow, production really didn't like Jan did they? They've done her dirty, thrown under the narrative bus as I expected. Earlier than I thought though.

I never understood why people/gays hate people for trying hard. Is that supposed to be a bad thing?
 
Well anyway

Overall ru-rank

1) Crystal - I think I love her now, I loved her video, she was the only one to do anything interesting with the runway, and a sweetheart to boot.

2) Jackie - She's just my thing, that's all. I'm not mad that she hasn't won anything yet, she still hasn't wowed me beyond 2nd place, but I hope she stays.

3) Gigi - This wasn't a great week, I thought they were a bit harsh on her mid-table commercial, they just didn't get her dry humour :)

4) Heidi - Yes she's funny, the dress was good. I didn't quite lose my shit over the ad, but maybe because they'd shown most of it already.

5) Jaida - I love it, a pageant queen with a good sense of comedy and not taking herself too seriously. Hope she has another moment soon.

6) Sherry - Well we were allowed to see it all this time, and .. meh. Her runways always look expensive, it's always a bit costumey though. This week was like a Doctor Who monster

7) Widow - So tired of her now, I think she's only here because there's been more deadwood below her, and she's a cunt in her talking heads
 
BTW last week's preview clip was another fantasy montage wasn't it? Did Jan actually say that in context at all?!

jackie is probably one of my favourites as a guy but she is close to the bottom in terms of drag. her michelle last week and her black wedding this week were beyond awful. i don't even want to try to remember what came become but the words "taste level" are flashing before our eyes.

and can someone please draw a proper brow on heidi and help her out of that greyish/green nightmare foundation she uses?
for all the talk of people being orange she really is getting away with that patina face.

Crystal is really becoming a favourite of mine, but she’s so fragile and should be protected from further exposure and therefore sent home.

She was rather useless in the library mini challenge.

And speaking of that, I didn’t like that format. Bring back the real reading challenge!

Her Michelle last week was the best of the lot, I thought. Although i think that may be because Michelle appeals to her aesthetic, which pretty much proves your point in general.
 
I usually hate la biblioteca (:disco:) but really quite enjoyed this week’s variant. However I’m clearly so corona-bewildered that I didn’t even notice that it WAS a variant thereof :side-eye:
 
I don’t know that the reading challenge is gone, I thought that was just a rather blunt product placement excuse
