Saturday has another five hours

Presumably they are essential because they sell food and medical stuff that you can't get anywhere else if you need something more specialised than you would get in a supermarket.

Exactly. You’re not going to find crickets, locusts and frozen mice in the Morrisons. Well, you might :side-eye:

I just woke up at 7am to the smell of fried onions from downstairs  I have never seen/smelled someone who fries onions as much as the guy downstairs and I really hope he chocks in them someday.

My Mum used to work in a school which had a snake and would have to go into Pets At Home to buy pinkies and fuzzies for snake din-dins.

The live food business is the only thing which puts me off having pet reptiles. I think I could just about cope with feeding crickets and worms to a bearded dragon but I’d have to pass on getting a snake as I’d feel sorry for the mice :(

They come frozen and you jiggle them about a bit for the snake.

My friend had a snake which did precisely FUCK ALL, but was quite friendly as innate predators go. I wouldn't mind getting one for myself but for the fact that everyone I know is terrified of them. Actually, that would deter visitors so it might not be too bad an idea.

Oh I’m fine with snakes. I went to a reptile thing last year and petted a snake although now I come to think of it, it started coiling itself around my neck which wasn’t all that scintillating

Oh you’re definitely just food to them, but that doesn’t mean they’ve not still got adorable little faces.

It's very much the same with cats. I have never met a house cat that wasn't clearly thinking, 'if I didn't weigh ten pounds, you would be dead right now'.

Looks like my neighbours are planning another party for tonight. Just seen them taking in loads of drink and flowers(!).

Flowers? Maybe one of them caught it, carked it and they're having a WAKE.

Guests have just started arriving. I'm gonna do another police report even though it does no good.

Just make a report without giving your details etc that you can hear SCREAMING coming from the house, they will turn up quicker.

I am tempted to call this time. I don't like to bother the police as I know they're busy. But this is like the 5th party they've had in the past 3 weeks. I just think it's ridiculous.

I would phone them now, say they're making a lot of noise and lots of people have turned up. Especially as they are repeat offenders at this.

The ex of an ex (while I was still going out with him) got two goldfish and named them after us.

And my Gran had a budgie named after me.

No pressure, Rachey.
Ooh I got 3 boy fish and I need names for them. One is now lolly. I need two more name volunteers please.

HOW? Surely PET SHOPS aren't open?
They sell pet food so legally they have to be open. Turns out if you buy fish food as an essential item, you can also buy fish :side-eye:

Big stores like Pets at Home and Maidenhead aren't selling any livestock but the little local island run ones are.

It never occurred to me that they might have normal shops on the Isle of Wight, I thought it would all be tea rooms and fudge emporiums. They've a branch of Game and a relatively big Next, I might have to pop over.
We have all the normal big shops over here, the only thing we don't have is a Primark and a Nandos, which is why we have to have regular mainland visits.

There is a lot of little coffee and teashops tho.

We also have the Garlic farm like Sheena said which sells the best iow produce, and the chilli farm..but I don't like chilli :(

Snakes are lovely and all that, our Pinesnake was gorgeous, but had I known just how bad snake-shit smells she'd have stayed in the pet shop. If you get a female snake you also have the added joy of the annual egg-laying. You have to leave the eggs in the vivarium for a few days because laying eggs makes them shed their skin so their eyes go milky and they can't see you. Prior to laying they don't eat for several weeks so by the time she's shedding she's starving and if you put your hand in the vivarium you're going to be attacked because she's attacking by smell only, she doesn't know that you just want to remove the unfertilised eggs. A graze from a snake tooth is like being sliced with the sharpest razorblade and it bleeds for ages.

I always wondered what snake poo would smell like.

It's the worst smell I've ever smelt and that's the truth! Even now I can still remember the smell clearly and it still makes me shudder. Think of a dead rat that's spent several days travelling down the acidic inside of a snake, breaking down and festering as it goes and then it's squirted out the other end as a pile of brown stinking vile sludge. If she did it early in the morning before I got out of bed I could smell it before I left the bedroom and would be retching by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs.

The exact reason why 'you're bigger than him' isn't a valid reason for me not to be scared of spiders. The only thing that stops them from ensnaring and eating us is size.

:gross: that sounds horrific. And I've smelt some gross things at work.

Got a right bum face on. Dont think i’ve ever felt so lonely in a house full of people and that then makes me feel selfish. Pft.
