Almost. That was the year he got into it. I came back from a school trip to the Isle of Wight to pretty much have the video of it on a loop every day until the 1994 contest gave us a second one to watch. We only had one VHS player in the house and the home computer was his which we'd play together... with Eurovision 1993 on cassette in the background. I got my own computer in 1996 so those are the years of Eurovision I know best.
 
Are you going to do 2002? It’s the only one I’ve never actually seen, because it happened during my first ever Kylie concert and I could never be bothered to catch up after.

These shows seem like obvious candidates for scheduling in; and they may mean that the Moopyvision 2020 slot the following week isn't needed.

Maybe because this thread is for rewatches, surely many of us will be around next Tuesday to watch whatever they stream. But yes, the rewatch for that Saturday is no longer needed.

I remember my cousin saying people were kicking off a few years back because Birmingham Pride was the same weekend as Eurovision. Obviously dmlaw and I are reclaiming Eurovision for the hets these days, but back then heads should have rolled for such a cock up.

“Sweden’s broadcaster SVT will show Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light live on SVT1 and SVT play, and will provide 2 additional programmes.

On 9 May, SVT will air a show called Eurovision: Inför ESC (Before Eurovision), hosted by David Sundin (one of the hosts of Melodifestivalen 2020), with Christer Björkman as his co-host. All 41 songs from Eurovision 2020 will be presented and viewers can vote for the songs they want to see in the final via the Melloapp.

The second programme, Sveriges tolva, meaning ‘Sweden’s 12 points' will be aired on 14 May and will be broadcast live from a studio at SVT in Stockholm. During the show, the 25 finalists voted for by viewers in the Melloapp will be shown and, once again, the viewers will vote to choose which entry will be the winner and therefore receiving their 12 points. There will also be Eurovision memories and clips from the 2 most recent editions in Sweden - 2013 and 2016. During the show, Melodifestivalen 2020 winners The Mamas will also perform Move. I've not paid too much attention as I'm relying on moopy to tell me, but I thought I'd read that a few different countries are doing their own regional show, as well as the ESC wide one. I'm assuming most will turn up for our delectation.
 
Okay so:

Sat 9th May - Inför Eurovision
Tues 12th May - Eurovision Song Contest Celebration
Thurs 14th May - Sveriges Tolva
ESC Celebration Part II



Hmm i personally want to follow the Swedish show - it is an actual Eurovision competition, albeit voted for by only Sweden. The semi is this Saturday and the final on Thursday. So there’s two overlaps there. I’ll understand if I’m alone in that though, maybe we can have two threads.
 
I'll be watching the Swedish one, the other one will be shit. 'Memba I told you.
 
I think most people are expecting the other will be at least semi shit, aren't they?
 
There's going to be a heck of a lot going on next week with tons of Eurovision content (SVT, EBU, BBC etc.) on a lot of nights - would it be better to postpone Allafest 2 by a week to avoid Eurovision streaming fatigue? For instance I'd like to watch the EBU semi shows (or maybe the SVT one on Thursday), but don't know if I can do three nights in a row (and really don't want to miss Alla's show).

In my capacity as senior communications officer I've added THREE new followers to our Twitter account. We may lose a few when I drunkenly tweet about VE day later, but that's only because I've looked back through the Moopy archives to our topics from World War II, and it turns out we were on Germany's side. Zu in particular.

I have no problem with that, but I know one the regulars can't make it that Wednesday :shy: But happy to move it to any other day that everyone that is interested can watch it.
 
Ok, I know there is a lot going on next week, but I thought all those programmes were at the same time (Sat, and possibly Tue and Thu) and it was a matter of which one you're going to watch more than having a lot to watch. It's not more that we've been doing with all the rewatches these weeks, is it? But I'm ok with moving Allafestivalen to Wed 27th if you all prefer it, up to you.
