As lovely as the coloured vinyls look I think I'll go for the CD/DVD box - more BANG for your BUCK!

It’s a shame they couldn’t bring themselves to bung The Golden Ratio in there as well, but I can see the thinking...

I'd recommend the USA release The Sign over hunky Ulf's original Nazi Nation.

I was doing some looking for Linn and of course the only thing to go on was a popjustice member claiming that these days "you would hardly recognise her, she's so fat", that she got hardly any royalties, that she tags along with her brother who got all the royalties, and that she left when Clive Davis wouldn't include her Sylvia Plath ballad Weeds on the Flowers album or something.

Clive Davis knows a HIT when he hears it

I don't know which version I've got but I seem to be missing the curiously titled Moogoperator from iTunes :D

I've got both versions of the first two albums... US version for the first deffo but prefer Euro version of The Bridge.

Is The Golden Ratio worth bothering with for another listen? I don't remember it fondly but All For You is decent enough.

The Poppers O’Clock 7th Heaven Remix is INCREDIBLE

Well, yes, aside from the absolute BUTCHERY of Life is a Flower into that terrible Whenever You're Near Me crap because he felt the original was 'too European'.
Oh, was that his handiwork? :D

Their lyrics were a bit rum

EVERY TIME IT RAINS
I
GET WET

I actually didn’t know there was a US version of The Bridge. I have the first album in both versions.

Also, I've been playing Flowers a lot lately and I will 100% die on the hill that their cover of Cruel Summer is ABSOLUTELY CORKING in both original and Big Bonus Mix form.

Yes, yes Bananarama are great, but there's NOTHING WRONG with a beefy 90s dance revamp.

Also, the CS video really is PEAK 'Lin glowers in the background for 3.5 seconds' :D

The original mix is pointless and a bit shit, but the Bonus Beats Mix is great. But fuck off is it anywhere near the original.

ARGH!

MORE FOOL anyone who ignores the brooding intensity and heart wrenching lyrics of Wheel of Fortune( YOUR LOVE IS MY ENGINE AND YOU MIGHT BE FUEL), not to mention the aching Scandi delivery (DON’T COUNT YOUR CHICKS BEFORE THEY’RE HATCH-EDDDD BABY), the INCOMPREHENSIBLE Ulf and Jonah bits (it tastes like steel like a stapcommaknife) and the nods to child abuse (WHAT YOU GONNA TELL YOUR DADDY?! OOOH WOH!).

:disco:

WAITING FOR YOU

The Sign really is the most airtight album of it's kind, it's balls to the wall bangers when it gets going past the singles. Flowers is just so well crafted - The Sign (the song) is a hard one to beat as it's just so starkly poptastic, but Life is A Flower is the sound of Jenifer Paige on that swing of hers off a cliff, it's somewhere between a sigh and total freefall. And also a tad on the bat shit crazy side.

Life is a Flower
The Sign
Travel to Romantis
Never Gonna Say I'm Sorry
Young & Proud
Beautiful Life
Blooming 18
Voulez Vous Danser
Dr Sun
Da Capo

HELP me take control
Of my full IMAGINATION
I'm looking for a man
Who will MATCH my SITUATION

The Sign might be my all time favourite

I SAW the SIGN
And it opened up my mind
And I am happy now living without you
I LEFT YOU
Oh OH OH
