Lady Gaga - The Chromatica Era

I can't believe that Moopy's true descendent of Babylon, Ms @RaspberrySwirl is not already popping her pussy in anticipation of working it, ancient city style. I guess maybe she came from more simple stock.

:oi: There ARE two of us (possibly more I think). But I'll leave the pussy popping to him. Mine is busy with other things.

me arriving to chromatica :disco:

So, Free Woman leaked. I am cautiously bopping, but wig still intact. I imagine it will be a standard regulation 13/10 in a week or so.

I really, really hope this has changed a lot from the leak. Yes she sounds great and the 90s production is fine, but the most important aspect, the actual melody, is so flat and half-baked. Even Stupid Love, basic though it may be, is extremely catchy. This sounds very undercooked and unmemorable. Awful.

OK WELL. Here are some live first listen thoughts

-Love the production
-Some of the songwriting is a bit clunky
-This is going to sound amazing mastered/in earphones
-Lyrics are just OK
-Melodies and vocals are really great

It's an easy 8.5 with plenty of room to UPGRADE into LOON TERRITORY in the very NEAR FUTURE :disco:

Whaaat? The “melodies” are the worst aspect. Sooo weak. It’s giving me “Living For Love” vibes i.e. Madonna’s worst ever single.

Not the full thing but a good chunk. And yes it's about as 90s gay as it gets.

Jesus Gaga Christ this is GRAND. Who cares about the clunky lyrics? It's a whole VIBE/MOOD piece, loving the production. How DARE you compare it to that wet fish Living for Love!

This is getting me quite excited at the whole Chromatica prospect. Looks like it'll end up sounding like a NOW Compilation from the early 90's with all those dance tracks on disc 2 :disco:

Found the full thing. It doesn't really do anything until the last minute. Until then, it's missing a coherent chorus. But it's still a fun listen.

And yeah, apart from 2 lines the lyrics are pretty juvenile.

Because it has the same non-melody thing going on. A total DAMP SQUIB.

That looks like the nutritional information on the back of a milk carton.

It's just the format. She's made the release date look like the expiry date.

I'm a bit wary about Chromatica right now.

I'm sure it will contain some decent songs (can't wait to use and abuse Free Woman), but Gaga has never seemed so blasé or downright unexcited by an album of hers. She's barely promoted (not even one performance of Stupid Love on live?), there doesn't seem to be a distinct visual language beyond pink hair, she's doing more for her super shitty make up, and the collabs scream label-mandated which suggests a lack of hits - and when the album's M.O. is being hyped as "a return to fun dance music", that's worrying.

Rain On Me had better end worlds.
