I have had a look at our schedule plans and als what’s on for Eurovision. Next week is jam packed with stuff.

I was thinking of starting semi final 1 the week after Eurovision. Next week there are Eurovision shows galore and for many people to find the time to listen to over 40 songs properly is just not going to be realistic.

I think there’s a Eurovision Again happening on Sunday 17th so we could start semi 1 before then, say at 6pm? And then Semi 2 and the Final on the consecutive Sundays? Each semi has a week to listen to the songs.

I am thinking of possibly holding the final as a live show with a live reveal of the qualifiers - if I can get it to work, as you will already all know the songs and you won’t need a week to vote. I’d be collecting votes in live via a website.

No, you only have to vote in your own semi final. If you fail to vote in your own semi you are disqualified.

However I’m not sure how that will work if people can’t make the live final, therefore they can’t vote. I might have to hold the voting another evening.

Doing the final in real time is a nice idea but I really think you'd struggle to get 41 (or 26 or however many finalists there are) people online at the same time.
 
You need a plan B for those who can't make it live, it's unthinkable everybody will be able to make it the same day, Kala.
 
Yeah, you’re probably right. I’ll probably have 4 shows/threads then, the 2 semis, the qualifiers reveal and final and then the final voting.
 
I wouldn’t even be mad about the shows being stretched out over 3 weeks if the first one didn’t start, you know, a YEAR from now.

Am I the only one wondering why we don't have both semifinals at the same time, given that you only have to vote in yours? Otherwise we all have to spend one week staring at the wall. Just saying.
 
Or maybe is too much work if he's going to prepare a real show. I'm sure this is bigger that whatever shit they're streaming instead of Eurovision this year. :disco:

Just say some dates!

This is the event most people are most bothered about so the rest of the 'entertainment schedule' will fit around this.

They don't move the fucking SUPERBOWL for an episode of Loose Women do they?

Just say some dates - inevitably some people won;'t be able to make it.

(Incidentally... that's what you should have done from the start said: 1ST MAY: SUBMISSION DEADLINE, 8TH MAY: SEMI 1, 15TH MAY: SEMI 2, 22ND MAY: FINAL or whatever then everyone works around that if they want to, and if they don't, they don't).

Also: as Alla said earlier, if you're going to spend ridiculous amounts of time making preview videos or recap videos or whatever else, I'd really recommend you don't. People are not going to appreciate them as much as you deserve them to be appreciated).
 
I say do them all in one night and also call it the final. Who on earth is going to re-enter for another round of this 1 week at a time shambles when we all know this is paint drying viewing parties season?
 
If the concern is that people won’t have time to listen to 41 songs wouldn’t it make the most sense to get them OUT THERE for longer rather than everyone waiting for weeks before we’ve even heard a note?

numerous people showed voters remorse in ASFM and said that new favourites emerged over repeat listens so having longer to sit with the songs wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Kala, I think it’s great what you’ve got planned hun. But don’t cause yourself too much work, there was absolutely nothing wrong with using YouTube/Spotify playlists.
 
I'm totally lost I'm afraid. So when do we hear the songs for semi 1? On the 17th? But then...when do the results of each fit in?

Also surely this weekend is perfect to launch it?! That way all the songs (both semis) can be given an airing, it won't interfere with Eurovision week (Kala even with events going on, people won't mind finding the time to listen to these - we are all GAGGING for this remember, although that is fading now..) and have results a week and a half or two weeks from now.

Just do the youtube/spotify playlist and agree a time. I know you're doing something more complicated but is it at the expense of keeping up momentum?

I assume a Eurovision watch as per, but it could be done earlier and as if this wouldn't take priority if it overran. But isn't tomorrow mostly free? Unless Kala isn't

Sorry, in my head it's Sunday today! That's exactly what I mean. Sunday evenings would be perfect for the semi final listening parties. And honestly, I don't think we need an elaborate show. A couple of playlists would do the job just fine.

Do whatever you need to do - timing, format, whatever. People don't realise how hard it can be to organise this sort of thing and juggle it around the real world.

Also if you wanted to put effort into doing a fancier show than just a youtube playlist, then do it - as it's your show you should have fun with it however you want.

Okay I'm sorry if that upset you, that wasn't the intention at all :confused: We're making suggestions just because people are finding it an extremely long winded process, and seeing if there are ways around that without it clashing with Eurovision week. Don't take that to heart - it's understandable that people will query things and try to offer up new ideas!

But I'm sorry that you've got a lot going on, please don't give up on this :(
 
Christ it's just so difficult - I'm sure when you run these things it feels like you can't do right for doing wrong. Yet at the same time you are going to get people querying it, sometimes reasonably, sometimes not.

I'm just going to say @Kalabaliken that all these posts from many people the last however many pages boil down to is finding the process an extremely lengthy one. It does dampen the enthusiasm, sadly. So naturally we're going to try to see if there's a way around that. You've changed the rules numerous times as a result of feedback remember.

Yet you can obviously tell us all to fuck off and deal with your rules and times. We may or may not respond to that. Isn't that the point of a forum?

Anyway I hope you do decide to carry on - we'd rather have it than not at all. If those have to be the times then so be it.

Kala needs to take a few days out because he's got some other things he needs to take care of. He's hoping to be back very soon, he just needs a bit of space which I'm sure nobody will begrudge him.

Kalavision is still happening, so by all means continue to mock, belittle and solicit bumhole pictures from each other as you already were. Kala won't be posting any updates for at least this week, so please don't @ him or try to bribe him with those awful pictures of your cocks, like the ones I get sent whenever someone wants me to merge a thread (@Rachey. @Indie are you listening?)

Last of all, #bekind. Every Moopy event is run voluntarily by a poster willing to give up obscene amounts of time for our entertainment, and the last few weeks would have sucked FAR more if they hadn't stepped up.
