Thursday of the week

bank holiday :disco:

I'm happy today and shall celebrate life with a much needed posh lunch

Feels a lot cooler again today. I just shivered. Deep joy.

I'm off all of next week. I can't wait. Apart from the weird start of lockdown I haven't had a proper break all year. I plan to get out in garden and give my BUSH a good going over, which I can do now the council are collecting green waste again. :disco:

Far too sunny here for my liking. Also, I threw all my shorts out last year because they were looking a bit tatty and didn’t get round to buying any new ones. Never mind, 19 degrees and gusts on Saturday :disco:

My garden is looking the best it has for about fifteen years already. Still a fair bit of work to do, though.

And I've got to the age where I'm considering buying a bird table.

Morning moopy. I've done a whole 3 days work this week. I'm treating myself by now having 5 days off. It's strange being back at work, you almost forget there's a world wide crisis.

Nice and sunny here, and I’m hearing unconfirmed reports that the weather will go to shit in time for the weekend, when I could actually have enjoyed it. Fuck off, weather.

I am off today, sunny and hot in London again today after they said thunder and showers.

Bike ride up the river today

I'm convinced that work has kept me from completely going under, in terms of my mental health. And although it has been a cunt to manage in many ways, the contact with my clients has been lovely. Most of them are far more concerned for me than they are for themselves, despite how vulnerable a lot of them are.

I'm off today because I'm in on Saturday. I've definitely been feeling the strain a bit this week so I think this is helpful.

:D

It's called becoming COOL

It’s also what we refer to as being LOUNGED :disco:

Mind you, ten minutes is a bit minimal. As a resident Enyameister I would recommend at least an hour a day for maximum goodness and refreshment :disco:

Yeah I've been back for 1 week and I already feel so much better!

And I've been told I can work at the local branch I can walk to, just doing Monday-Weds for the foreseeable future.

It'll be nice when we start seeing clients pets. At the moment I'm just sat on my own all day.

I have been busy homeschooling this morning. I tried to delegate it to my daughter but she was having none of it. At least it is raining although if the sun gets its hat on anytime soon I am OUT.

Have you finally nailed your 7 times table yet?

:D! Mum Of The Year award goes to @Rita!

What does homeschooling actually involve if the parent isn’t a trained teacher? Basically strapping ‘em to the chair and making sure they’re not flicking themselves off to painful anal on PornHub?

What else do you do for General Studies?

Very little if I am being honest. He is currently sitting reading Of Mice and Men for English which is a lot better than him sitting on X Box all day.

My work have confirmed that we'll be working longer but less days. I don't really know how I feel about that because it'll probably mean some days I don't see the kids, and I don't know who will look after them outside the nursery hours (which have been reduced also).

*sighs*

Ooh I’ve just got up :bruised:

Love a good 5 hours kip in between TWELVE HOUR night shifts.

Will they be more flexible because you've got kids? We've emailed our furloughed parents asking what days and hours they can work and we're working around them as much as possible.

Have they said how many hours and days?

LIFE’S HARD GET USED TO IT.

*has 5th cigarette of the day in bed*
I couldn’t even do a YOU and nip to my car to down a bottle of ROSÉ during my break, although I did have a POWER NAP on the back seats :disco:

Yes but your work are probably nicer than mine :( The boss just called me, she says the trouble is that in my team (of 7) 4 of us are in this situation. So it's not possible to be that flexible. She thinks we're going to be busy and they'll need the cover.

They've not said anything concrete yet, I was supposed to be doing 9:30-3:30pm three days a week. I've a feeling that'll be changed to 8am-7pm two days a week. I think my only fear is that they'll turn it into something permanent.

This is where we're going to have a problem. As people go back to work at varying times and patterns, the pressure starts to build on anything perceived as "customer service". Everyone wants everyone else to be open when they need it, regardless of the impact on THOSE people. We're already getting this - pressure to get things open longer and so what about you. We already know that Britain is a nasty country right now and we're going to see that nastiness and entitlement flood out of the worst of those people.

Absolutely Octy, and greedy bosses will do as the public want if they think they can profit, despite the effect on employees. For the first time I had actually managed to negotiate a really nice working week going back after maternity leave, just my luck it all falls apart!

I know, what an absolute downer. :(

I am still hanging from yesterday, not even a nap can save me.

2 days a week would be nice...but I guess not if you don't have childcare. What happens if you really can't get childcare? Is Mr Star not working from home at all?

There is no way you can look after two young children and work from home :D

I literally don't know, we're just going to have to find some way to make it work. I've a feeling I'll be working weekends/ using holiday etc
