Yeah do the mods have any clue whatsoever what's happening with this?

Really we'd all just like to reveal our entries (:ken:) or reuse them... or ideally complete this.
 
Well he left a reason here to leave but gave a different version to the mods, I guess he keeps them updated but the plebs don't need to know.
 
I think they said he was still planning it but after everything had died down.

If he decides not to surely someone else could host, as we've all got our songs and countries so it's GOOD TO GO

I think we could definitely put that to him, see if he's happy for somebody else to take the reins. Might do him good to have that extra pressure off him.
 
I will happily use my entry for another Song For Moopy if this isn't going to happen. But it's really lost a heck of a lot of momentum... what if the 47 (!) players aren't all interested any more?

If you don't come back for Allafestivalen I'm gonna have a serious meltdown, I don't know if I'll be able to recover. Next Wednesday, I want you there, PLEASE :(

Yes but that leaves the time everyone spent finding their songs and putting this all together in limbo. Which seems a bit shit.

If I'd just walked off in the middle of Survivor I wouldn't expect people to feel sorry for me - I'd expect them to be pissed off.

That's not the reason and a mod confirmed it. And I didn't see anyone being "horrible" to him, for god's sake. Kala knows how Moopy is very well, he's not going to take those things seriously.

Did you not read the (lengthy) contract before handing your song over to Kala? You are not allowed to reveal or reuse your entry without his permission ever. We will be discussing the what ifs and could haves of the mythical Kalavision 2020 for the next 20 years.

We've said all we can without breaching Kala's confidence - nothing else will be forthcoming. Ultimately, if people want to believe that it's down to criticism of Kalavision, there's nothing I can do about that. Nature abhors a vacuum and Moopy abhors almost everything (sort of).

I absolutely get that people wanted this to happen, no-one more than Kala who had put all that effort into the structure in the first place.
 
Unless there's anything particularly topical about any of the songs people entered, why don't we just completely pause this with all the entries intact (but make sure it's not forgotten, and if Kala decides not to come back or to pass the reigns to someone we then pick it up again).

However in the meantime there's clearly no reason to hold off on launching ASFM2 or Soldivision or whatever similar things people might have been planning next.
 
Not to be preachy, but as somebody with experience of running ever-delayed Moopy competitions, even if you're as inured to Moopy humour as I am, sometimes logging in to a barrage of criticism is really quite dispiriting, especially when you've put hours/days into something and you're managing external stresses on the side.

It's the same thing I'd say about all the ModGate scandals recently. Nobody should be exempt from scrutiny, and for the most part Moopy humour does come with the territory and rolling with the punches is a big part of surviving on this forum, but please do try to operate from the assumption that we're all basically doing the best we can and, y'know, #BeKind.

Or even better, lock the thread and get the Play-Doh out so everyone has something else to think about. I mean for GOD’S SAKE. First to make a convincing Taj Mahal wins £2.50 and a bottle of WKD :disco:

I agree with you completely, and I don’t understand why people are acting like there’s a fire - things can wait and the health of our posters should be the number one priority.

however, just as an observer I do feel that had Kala been a little more constructive himself to Ag when Ag was setting up the first competition, he wouldn’t have set this precedent that things are done ‘properly’, that I think has been the source of some light-hearted contempt.

Quite. I get that whatever is going on is none of our business and I wish him well, but he did set a precedent. I also feel like expectations were so high (set by Kala himself), that people shouldn't be too critiqued for wanting to know.

I can't believe I started typing "kala" into the username box to log in. Imagine if the password was "Eurovision" :D

Anyway, I came back from my own 1 hour hiatus (couldn't possibly say what ticked me off as I can't remember) to say that this thread simply cannot be ruined completely as I always get the Chucklevision theme stuck in my head, but sung as Kala-Kalavision, etc.

I think just draw a line under whatever has constituted a "drama" and maybe remember the roly Poli Genova classic If Caring Too Much About an online song contest was a crime.
 
I know POTW was down, but Soldivision could be behind the kind of BUMP IN THE NUMBERS that I approve of!
 
Yes, let’s have the grotty little slut doing something for once, rather than sending an XXX cunt pic to everyone and constantly begging for nudes. I mean it was fairly pleasant for what it was, but that settee could do with a scrub :tongueout:
