Sunday nips to Durham

Yo.

Woke up at 6.15. Thought "lol no" and now it's half-eleven. Oops.

I've woken up with the worst fuggiest headache caused by taking painkillers last night. Baffling that a headache is a side effect of tablets used to get rid of headaches. Grateful it isn't the itches though, I can ignore a headache but I can't ignore wanting to scratch off my skin.

Had a big overhaul of the back garden yesterday and having a lovely time sitting out in it now. It was starting to feel claustrophobic. The birds have rediscovered the feeder and have come flocking back. There's one especially hungry GREAT TIT who won't leave it alone.

Bensons back home SAFE and SOUND. They suspected it was just a stomach problem from something he’d eaten on his walk and the fact that he was pissing himself was supposedly because it put him in lots of pain to go to the toilet and so his bladder ended up full.

Near enough back to his usual grumpy self :)

That's good news. And he hasn't even been given one of those undignified cones.

Ha my dog used to eat random decaying shit or just literal shit all the time, I stopped paying attention to his sporadic fasting/shitting/puking after a while, stupid old goat.

To be fair I think it was horse shit that did it. The back lanes are COVERED in them and it’s clearly from the posh twats on the paddocks at the back. No reason for them to pick it up when they get back as it’s hardly FAR. They’re always the first to moan about dog poo too.

Did the police come out?
I don't know. I turned the TV up and with the noise of the fan I couldn't hear anything. They'd moved inside the house by 'later' so fuck knows. He's risking the whole street because him and his dozens of grandchildren are always out on the path that leads out the street.

I don't even dislike him. He's friendly enough, he's just irresponsible.

Don't even get me started on the children two doors down that are VERY LOUD in their garden from 10am until about 7pm every day.

I'm so close to just going to my best mates flat getting ludicrously drunk and staying there for a couple of days.

I shaved all my hair off and now the dog's a bit scared of me, and there was a spider in the washing I've just carried downstairs. So that's my weekend in a nutshell.

I'm also on the absolute edge right now. So much is triggering me.

I can’t even bear to get out of bed most days, apart from getting up to do some work to avoid destitution. I mean what’s the point? There’s nowhere to GO, anywhere of interest is closed, I’ve lived here for 20 years so have done the local and surrounding areas to death, and the virus avoidance dance does my fucking head in

So all going EVER SO WELL here too :argh:

I think my horrible essay was keeping me going.

I still have a 20,000 word dissertation to do. Maybe time to get stressed about THAT.

I broadly like some of the nearby area. The town park is particularly beautiful, but I need something NEW.

I found a SMALL folly in the town park last week that I'd never seen before.

Mr Ag tells me the local Poundland has reopened.

THIS IS THIS SHIT EXCITING ME AT THE MOMENT.

Oh it’s all fine and perfectly nice round here but my eyes aren’t half sick of the sight of it after all this time. How many times can one walk down the same streets without wanting to scream? Time for something new INDEED. When and how? Obviously a whole other matter...

On the whole I'm pleasantly surprised at how well me and Mr L have weathered lockdown together (particularly with him working from home), but I really needed to spend some time with someone else

I think I'm going to trust my own judgement here on in as well. Met my mother today for a walk in the park again, but declined her offer of going into her flat for lunch.

Just HAMMERED the family at monopoly. Only room for one capitalist bastard in this family peasants

:disco: I did that a few Christmases back. Well it all turned very ugly. Comments like WELL YOU’VE ALWAYS BEEN GREEDY (!!!) and some shocking temper tantrums. Not MY fault I know how to play it! Strangely we haven’t gone near it since... :side-eye:

With the exception of my brother pushing me off walls and through doors and windows, I think the only fights I ever had in life were with my cousin Damon over Monopoly.

I mean OF COURSE I was cheating Auntie Margaret, but if the game goes on THAT LONG and your son is THAT THICK, just what is one supposed to do, exactly?

Well I’ve just been for a shit responsibly, legally and with integrity :disco:

Oh God I'm watching this Tony Slattery documentary. It's all a bit much.
