She came back at the weekend after the previous argument, and said she enjoyed the few days of Moopy in the should Moopyrate return thread? Sorry I don’t really frequent the sync threads.

I thought she was taking a break after the tag stuff. Which was fair (we miss you @octophone). Not sure the sync stuff had any effect. I found it pretty fucking rude, so maybe.

She is possibly still taking a break then. She was active in the Should We Bring Back MoopyRate thread after the tag thread though. Just making sure she is OK.

@jivafox suggested Holly Valance's State of Mind in the dirty sync topic. @VoR and I think it's worthy of a main sync. Factory produced plastic early 00s pop at it's finest!

But equally I don’t see why there couldn’t have been simultaneous (or back to back) syncs though. The Mariah one was very niche and didn’t really crossover to anyone outside of the lamb bubble anyway.

As I understand it, part of the reason for starting these Albums Syncs was for people who wouldn't normally listen to those acts or albums to do so, in a shared setting. So the 'bubble' shouldn't really apply.

In terms of having them back to back, my experience in the ones I've taken part in, where there has been an obvious companion album to listen to, or an expanded edition with a lot of bonus tracks, is that a lot of people drop out. So I think doing them back to back is probably best avoided.

Yes, I totally get the preference is absolutely to avoid the same days. And as I said, I think that was definitely my bad.

I just don't think the other one needed to be pulled. I'm not even sure what the other sync was supposed to be?

Exactly. Where were we meant to check? Octophone mentioned a sync on Tuesdays but didn't link to anywhere we could see what this alleged clash was.

To be honest I don't personally see why you needed to check or know what the other one was, if octy has said one had already been planned. We've been doing them a while and I think most of us who partake just let her decide and drop the thread when she can, and then decide if we're going to partake.

But either way, I don't think we need to endlessly rake over it. It happened and nobody needs to apologise any more for it. I just think it would be good to have a consensus so we don't go through this again.

No, Octy did not mention a clash. They said "we do syncs on Tuesday" but did not specify that there was one happening yesterday (WAS there?) and as far as I knew there was no schedule that we have to sign up to.

Oh, mis-gendering. Classy. Prick.

I literally edited before you could even post. It obviously was not intentional. I don't know what Octy's pronouns are. Why's everybody so fucking irate today?

Fuck you. Read the fucking reply above. The quote you posted had already been edited - I'm sorry that you're looking for a fight, for unknown reasons, but maybe log off and resolve that tension elsewhere instead of derailing this topic.

Just in case anyone accuses me of sticking my head in the sand, checking the times of the edit history the misgendering does look like a genuine mistake that was quickly corrected.

I don't believe there's intentional malice nor does it seem there would be any reason for there to be so.

Unless mob rule and/or Octy disagrees I say we leave that there. Thanks. (although feel free to continue arguing about timings of whatever nonsense you want to listen to this week)

If anyone wants to take this over, feel free.

I'm trying to limit my online time so I can get some proper reading done (I refuse to be one of those people who doesn't do the work), finish the various pieces music I've promised to people and, in particular, not be confronted with horrendous, state-mandated transphobia at every turn, thus preserving the already thin membrane of sanity that is holding me together.

I still love you, Moopy.

Except Jark. Jark's a cunt.

I'd like to do one tomorrow, if you don't want to do it.

What were you planning to drop next? Or if you're not around, perhaps worth considering one you weren't that keen on doing anyway...

I was going to do Massive Attack's Protection for the next Sunday which is one that came up early on (+ we're all stanning Brizzle right now anyway) and Pet Shop Boys for Tuesday, either Actually or Behaviour.

Feel free to choose whatever you like. Whilst I like the idea of running through an album I don't know (or even don't like), that doesn't appeal to a lot of others.

Oh, Massive Attack is a perfect Sunday evening soundtrack.

Anything tonight @lolly?
I was in the middle of posting the thread, paused to make lunch, cam back to the tablet and wiped it

Happy to launch ARTPOP later (off out now so won't get the chance until late afternoon) but was wondering what to do about Do What U Want. It's no longer on the Spotify tracklist, and the YouTube full album link show it as being there, but is blocked when you play it. Do we just accept it as cancelled?

Accept it as CANCELLED!

If octy isn't back to do it tomorrow, I'm planning to do a thread for Röyksopp's Melody AM.

That very much fits the brief of a Sunday evening listen, and I'd feel like I was was stepping on toes a little by doing one of the ones suggested while octy was running it herself.

I was planning Susanne Sundfør's Ten Love Songs, but Memorial doesn't seem to be available on Spotify UK, at least.

What and when is tonight's sync listen? I think I was interested but I've forgotten.

It's usually Tuesday. Not sure if there was a plan for what was next.

Oh it was the one I suggested :D :D :D Xtina, Back to Basics. I'm happy to do this tonight at 9 UK if the hunties are still down? @POP! @SDF? @dUb? :eyes:

Hows this working, the "flop" albums on Tuesday and the more serious ones sunday?

Was going to give it a day, then tomorrow was going to start compiling a list of suggestions that hadn't been done yet and/or any new ones.

Tuesday is for classic albums with some sort of appeal to Moopy, Sunday is intended to be more chilled out and/or less commercial albums, but not necessarily flops. The flop sync listens seems to be a new thing which can be fitted around the 'official' ones.

Okay in that case I apologise because I said I'd take some sort of lead then did fuck all, but I thought I'd purposefully leave it a day.

Question is: do we want to merge the Tuesday and Sunday listens and do a classic and/or chilled album on sundays instead? Or do we think there's still enough interest for both?

Tomorrow/sunday night (depending on the response to the above): as it recently celebrated its 25 year anniversary and I know it was mooted at one point, how does Jagged Little Pill sound?

well where does the Catfights one (Wednesday) fit in?

I think JLP is a great one for tomorrow

Flops on Wednesdays over in the Pop Toilet!

This is kind of my question; at the moment we have three relistens a week, which I know are for different crowds, but is that how people want to keep it?

Why dont we keep Wednesdays for flops, and Tuesdays can be impromptu suggestions if something comes up, like the Xtina with Bionic turning 10 and Alanis for example?

I think 3 a week is fine as the users partaking seem to be quite diverse / not always the same names
