I'm beginning to really resent zoom meetings. I think there's a real tendency now just to have them because we can. I went to three different ones last week which didn't need to happen at all. There wasn't even anything to discuss; all the information could have been passed on in an email. As I'm not working from home and don't have the facility to be sure of confidentiality everywhere I may be, I need to make sure I'm in a certain place at a certain time to be able to attend it. It's been a right pain in the arse.
 
My work hasn't taken to video meetings thank god. We're just using plain old Webex like we always did and no-one turns their camera on. We used zoom for our "social" the other week but that wasn't work related just a "nice" chat. :eyes:
 
Yeah we've just carried on with Skype for Business as usual. Moving to Teams soon and had a first meeting on it yesterday, but still no video thank fuck.

I am NEVER late. Occasionally I flake on things but it’s VERY VERY VERY occasionally. One of the culprits today, this is the FIFTH time in succession she’s said we’d go paddleboarding and then let me down last minute. I told her I’m done, today.

The last time I was (particularly) late for something i text my friends group and said I'd gone for drinks after work and then kept them updated on how more progressively drunk I was getting (i.e sending pictures of wine glasses saying "oops" or some such). But it is rare. I have a friend who on occasion has turned up 3 or 4 hours after we've planned completely drunk but pretending not to be which causes me to let him know it's "okay to go for drinks after work you know, but a text would've been nice" and then I feel like his parent.

I’d already told her last chance. And I gave another. FIVE FUCKING TIMES.

Then I arranged to meet other friends on the beach at 4 and at 4:30 they sent a message saying “Just leaving now”. On a 20 minute ish walk. I just went home. Fuck ‘em.

I’m winding myself up again after having had a lovely relaxing evening.

I'm glad it's not just me! It's always been a massive bugbear of mine and one I get made fun of for, but it's just respect innit?

On the positive I've become an expert at sitting in a bar sinking pints alone and fucking enjoying it. :disco:
 
I always keep to plans unless I get ill, I hate being cancelled on myself. Although I haven't made any plans with ANYONE since December. :(

I remember some FRENCH renting the house next to us one summer and they’d eat near to fucking midnight most nights!
 
I always thought eating at 5pm was the COMMON one. That's for Brexiteers and Sun readers (and also me when I have to get to the pub for 6)
 
We always eat late! Back in the days of non-lockdown Ig gets home from work 7.30 at the earliest at least. If I eat too early now I end up pigging out on crisps by 10 :(

That's what I've always thought. Even now when I'm vaguely upwardly mobile, if I'm having my main meal at about 5 or 6, it's tea. When it gets nearer 7, it becomes dinner.

That too. Normally served with white bread on the table.

6-7 if you’re in, 7:30- 8 in a restaurant.
 
Good evening, moops. I've had a GRAND day at the seaside on a coastal walk.

Alright, would have been better with pubs, but it was generally quiet, achieved fish and chips and even had a store-bought beer on a bench.

My Dad worked on building sites so obviously was starving come tea time and we always had bread with meals. He got massive quick when he stopped grafting but carried on making everything into a sandwich :D

Also @Sheena during lockdown I’ve been known to have my dinner at 10pm :D

For the record, I had dinner at 9 tonight
 
Now I cook dinner as soon as I get gone from work otherwise I get too comfortable. During lockdown though I would only get up at noon so dinner was usually no earlier than 10, sometimes midnight.

There’s something about having dinner after Midnight that feels quite DECADENT.
 
Lol at 10 pm being late for dinner, in Lebanon it's just REGULAR. All my meals have moved earlier since I've been living here though. Dinner at 8 pm and I refuse to have that any earlier though.
