Tuesday might be able to get a haircut

I've actually booked in for a haircut already. As much as I love my locks its a bit much in this heat.
 
I am VERY jealous of those getting haircuts, which is an absolute minimum of three weeks away in Scotland. My fringe is out of control and I am sick of it.

Mine’s grown back a lot since I shaved it, and it’s starting to stick out at the sides which is pissing me right off. For those of you familiar with the X-Men comics, picture Deathbird and you’ll have a fair idea of my current hair situation.
 
I had one pencilled in next week by a hairdresser friend of a friend, but now she knows she's going back to work she wants the time off. Which is annoying as I have an EVENT on the 4th I wanted to look good for, and I reckon it will be nigh on impossible to get an appointment for a haircut in the whole of July.
 
I usually go to the Turkish barber near my office, but now It's gotten to such a length I've decided to keep it long, and suspect it needs a more deft touch.
 
My local barber has started a booking system for the first time, so I thought i'd get in there. I like the informal nature of a barber but I do find it frustrating when you turn up and there's a bazillion people in the queue.
 
My guy is usually booked quite far in advance, but I have had him for a good few years now and followed him to his now third salon which he now owns himself. He is expensive at just under £30 but I don't mind paying that as he is absolutely brilliant though and my hair is so thick and wild that it needs someone who really knows what they are doing. He is also amazing at colour, but I think I'll wait for that just now as there's not really any point when I am not going anywhere. If anyone is in or around Glasgow I can really recommend him. PM me if you want details.
 
My barber could literally triple his prices and I’d still flock there
 
Is anyone else listening to 6music and the truly horrifying story about eels and how no one knows how they reproduce, except for the fact they all seem to come from the BERMUDA TRIANGLE.

£30 WITH A COLOUR! I pay roughly that for a Turkish barber. Admittedly that includes the burning of the ears and hot towel but still. :D
 
My hairdresser has gone and sneakily added three euros to his tarifs (now 28 euros for my haircut) but I’ll forgive him that.
 
I started getting mine cut at the PRIMARK at the ARNDALE back at uni and thought £12 was a BIT DEAR :D
 
Full on beard trim with towels and the works brings my £12 haircut to about £25.

Pretty sure my Albanian boys won't be doing online bookings. Although that's more down to the grumpy old manager rather than my preferred barber.
 
I'm happy to give my hair another few weeks to avoid the crowds. It's fun to grow it out a bit. Despite the recent picture, I can tame it.
 
As I said elsewhere, I pay £25 a month on a direct debit for unlimited cuts and beard trims. I go fortnightly as a result, but it's nice to have the option of an extra TOUCH UP for a special event :disco:

And it's in a really trendy barbers as well. I presume they make their money on people who sign up and never go/ go once a month...

This is AMAZING.
 
I've not paid for a haircut in years. I go to the London School of Barbering and have always been pleased with the standard. They're back open next month and charging £3 if you go at an 'off-peak' time or £6 if you go at a 'peak' time and if that's a measure to put people off whilst they can only operate at 50% capacity, it's gonna work on me as I'm holding out to see if the free appointments return later down the line :D
 
Like Lucy, I'm enjoying my hair being a bit longer so I'd like to keep it for now. I might also go more for a COIF over a barber next time. I'm making a proper go at growing my beard as well. I always get put off when it starts to make my face look puffed out but I'll try to stick with it this time.
 
I do miss my beard and was intending to grow it back but yesterday's hair cut has made me shave again to see what the ridiculous moustache looks like with it and I kinda like it, so am going to hold out for a bit.

(And yes, I know I need to clean the mirror...the cleaner not coming in has waged HAVOC on this place, believe me!)

HONEY it's £30 for JUST A CUT in GLASGOW. For a colour with a full head of bleach then toner it's about £120. That's up towards the higher end of the market.
