There has been a bit of online criticism of Raven recently for wearing very dark make-up and tanning, with some people saying it veers close to blackface.

The Sharon stuff is all quite tricky to follow, but the short version seems to be that she befriended a teenage fan and behaved quite inappropriately with them in various ways.
 
There seems to be a bit of a Drag Race witch hunt at the moment with messy twinks going through seemingly every performance EVER UPLOADED on YouTube until they find something they can "cancel" somebody for.

They tried it with Alaska last week (who very sincerely apologised).
Multiple PoC told on redddit were very unhappy about this behaviour from the "exposers", as there's clear evidence and lineage of Alaska being one of the best allies of ALL WHITE QUEENS.

I don't think there's anything wrong with queens (or anyone else) owning shitty stuff they might have said or done in the past.
 
Sharon was also the RUDEST CUNT when we DJed the after show. And so fucking nasty to her fans. A nightmare.

I don’t mean to be dismissive of what she did but I think there’s a difference between an unpleasant person who’s out of control like Sharon who damages people because they’re generally destructive and someone who’s out there hurting people on purpose.
 
Too many words to get into that Sharon stuff. Her being awful is hardly a shock. She's often jokingly branded racist by her fellow queens. I don't know where that comes from.

This is always the case with these ultra activists that highjack a good cause and turn it into a purity test against their own. Hopefully they’ll grow out of it, but social media puts those who are accused in a very vulnerable situation.
 
When you’re getting offended on behalf of the people who are MEANT to be offended, then you are creating a whole other (utterly unnecessary) problem.

I still think Trixie’s racist “joke” towards Latrice about picking cotton is one of the most damaging things to come from Drag Race (albeit adjacent). How many brain-dead gays are going to have seen it, and then replicated it under the guise of it “just being a joke” :manson:

I feel like this about quite a few of the shitty jokes and memes that some of the queens have to put up with. A perfect example is the Roxxxy bus stop jokes, you see arseholes tagging her in memes about it all the time and if anyone calls them out it's fine because Katya made a joke about it on All Stars so it's fair game :eyes: And for all the moaning about teenage girl stans being the worst, a huge amount of the hateful stuff I see getting tweeted at the queens is from men in their twenties and thirties who should probably know better.

Sharon is either mentally ill or someone desperately trying to be 'edgy'. That poor child.

Why are the organisers letting under 21s enter? I could not read it all. Alaska whipping it out in front of a 15 year old is "just the tip" of the grubby iceberg by the sound of it. I don't think I'll every look at that heroine hound Sharon the same again - I'll probably rewatch season 4 and start cheering Phi Phi on.

That’s what I was thinking reading this too... then I gave up on it because it was sad and stupid on all sides... Sharon for being an idiot acting a role like she were a real damaged star (she’s just damaged) and this stupid fan who obviously has a lot of issues to begin with. I know it sounds harsh, but I feel no sympathy towards that person.
