I looked at the Sash! chart history. Ten top 10 singles. Five no.2 singles, surely nobody has come as close to a no.1 so many times and not got one. Unlucky.
 
I lie. She only has two no.2s. 17 top 10 hits without a no.1!
 
Who are the must successful dance acts on the list? I'd say Snap! must be very competitive is you put Donna, Kylie and Mariah etc aside.
 
Probably Faithless if you’re looking at singles and albums. Sash! for pure dance acts in the UK as the first two albums were top 10 too with longevity. The first one spent a year in the chart, plus the greatest hits was top 10 and hung around. Snap have similar stats to Sash.
 
I can't vote for the 49ers, they're possibly the worst of the screwing over their original vocalists and trying to not credit the actual talent. If memory serves, they used an original singer who then found out she would be lipping to Aretha and quit, then drafted in someone else to re-record the first lady's parts, only she realised during the video shoot that not only was she lipping to Aretha (surprise!), she was also lipping to lady #1 (surprise, surprise!) and absolutely none of her vocals were on the track (very Smelly Cat).

I'm happy to just settle for I Don't Know Anybody Else as Black Box at least had morals...

I'd actually argue that a fully blown Aretha moment on Touch Me would have wiped the floor with her overrated Deeper Love.

I am 99% sure Princess Superstar is getting my 20, but trying to order all my 90s faves after that is very distressing :(

With two huge no.1s to boot and 6 years of charting hits. Agree with Faithless.

Chemical Brothers also had an incredible run with two no.1s. Nothing as massive as Rhythm is A Dancer.
 
I'm skipping Donna Summer, which feels like I'm denying a proven theory of the origin of life, but it's disco not "dahnse". I might go listen to the Rollo remix though (thanks Now).

Yeah all of those were big. Kinda annoying. I was most annoyed when Dannii seemed set to finally get her first no1 after several top 10s only for Christina Aguilera to unleash Beautiful the same week as I Begin To Wonder.

What is our preference out of The Logical Song and Nessaja? After listening to them both back to back I feel I have entered the wrong song. Nessaja is going to feature heavily in today’s SUNDAY SESH. :disco:

Yeah, I prefer Nessaja. The Logical Song is the classic, though - it would have been weird to have any other Scooter songs in there without it.
 
Also I whittled down my votes to a top 50 from a starting list of about 120 .. and now see I can vote for 55 .. except I can’t remember what the final few I culled were. Fuck!
 
Good lord this was a journey, I'm glad I took it, even if I'm a bit "really?" about my own ranking. It took AGES!!
Even the top 55 took about half an hour to whittle down, then I decided to split in to eras (early 90s, latter 90s teen years, early 00s uni trance blowout, post uni mid 00s trash, modern era) because it was almost impossible to do otherwise. Then I pitted the bottoms of each rank together (and then changed my mind about the era rank results constantly).

Dance videos really are WEIRD :D especially the european ones *runs around in sunglasses, leather jackets, chasing some object like a key or a vase, lightning happens*
