It will go platinum, without doubt. Well, unless the label abandon this 'in for the long run' or whatever strategy they were talking about only a matter of weeks ago, and I see no reason why they should. I think it will end the year at around 300k. Perhaps a bit more or less, depending on if we get a re-release.
 
I think the re-release will be dependent on whether or not the tour needs rescheduling again. It's already slightly off sync if they do it for Christmas but then, she'll want the songs that have been held back for the live set. I think we'll see a new version on November and I think she'll add 7 or 8 songs. At which point, I'll be in for a double vinyl, thank you very much.

NB - despite receiving a holding e-mail, I have never got my promised signed photo that was supposed to come with my CD. SCREW YOU, WARNERS.

I got the HMV picture disc because, well, who doesn't like a picture disc. But I'll wait for the inevitable double LP to get my coloured vinyl fix.
 
Is it an arena tour she's scheduled for? Logistical nightmare I know but it may be wiser to cancel the venue bookings and reschedule for Sept 2021 as a stadium / open air / festival type short tour...

Yeah - she starts in January. Difficult to say if this is too soon or not at the moment.

I think you should have stopped after the first sentence. It’s clear you have no idea what you’re talking about. Ultra-nationalism is never “right”. There is no debate about that. You might as well say that Hitler was right to express how he felt about his heritage.

No, Rita just asked for Kosovo to be recognised on Apple Maps, which is perfectly legitimate as 97 countries including the US do recognise Kosovo as a country. That's fine and fair.

What Dua did is totally different - posting a flag which represents a mythical Greater Albania, feeding into extreme nationalist ideas of expanding the country to claim territories from several neighbour countries on the very questionable basis that this is fair because some indigenous Albanian people living in those places eg. Macedonia, Greece.

I don't think she is or should be "cancelled" and inside Albania this is actually quite a POPULAR idea - it's not totally right wing or considered extremist there. But advocating for it is a shit look when the people in those other countries SURE AS SHIT don't want to be forcibly absorbed into a "Greater Albania". Her non-apology just makes it worse ("I'm misrepresented!" - no, bitch, people are reacting to what you posted and you're doubling down).

I don't think this is very fair. Comfortably being able to separate the art from the artist isn't an indicator of someone's morals or values. Enjoying the music of someone with questionable values doesn't make you a degenerate "BY ASSOCIATION".

That being said, I fucking GIVE UP on trying to stan anyone anymore. Songs should just be released anonymously from now on.

My point wasn’t that because Rita defended her, that everything is all right. More that it didn’t seem that we need to cancel her when there were plenty of other people who seemed to be talking about the same thing.

But like I said, I don’t really know too much about it, and honestly I’m still here for the tunes.

I also agree with @HeLikedTurner that if her subsequent tweet was meant to be some kind of apology then it missed the mark.

But I don't think that's grounds for cancellation. Yet.

Rita was calling for Kosovo to be recognised on Apple maps as it’s own country almost immediately following Dua suggesting Kosovo should be ABSORBED into Albania...?

Has Dua got any previous form for this? Does that count for ANYTHING here, especially comparing her to Morrissey with his long and winding trail of sick left behind him?

You obviously know a lot/feel strongly about this and I'm not going to question that, but is there no way this can be interpreted as a really fucking stupid move on her part, maybe haphazardly trying to make a point, without it meaning she's instantly some hateful nationalist cunt all of a sudden who IN AN INSTANT should be cancelled?!

On the basis of one tweet - and an admittedly defensive apology - the idea of instantly putting a noose around her neck without getting more from her just sits a tad uneasily.
 
I mean, realistically the vast majority of people won't know this has ever happened - and the politics of the Balkans is not something we are particularly/at all educated on in any of her big markets I really can't see it affecting her career much or AT ALL.
