MORNING and greetings from France, where I’m off to the beach for the day. Which is terribly exciting, but may also be annoying as I’m not sure I will be able to swim or not because of these STITCHES. My doctor said I could but every bit of online advice says I shouldn’t and the wound on my foot is still quite, well, open, to be frank. Ah well.

Still, having the most wonderfully relaxing time- feel really stress free for the first time in a LOOOOONG time.

Bonjour Shee!

My friend forgot to turn off his alarm, so that woke me up while he’s back to sleep now. We were literally in a K-hole until 3am, he’ll pay for this. But we’re going to the beach too today so yay !

MORNING and greetings from Germany.

Had a similarly laid back weekend in Berlin. I mean obviously it’s that kind of city ANYWAY but the contrast to the UK in these current times is most welcome.

Why is everyone away or going to the beach?

FUN TIMES this morning. A few months ago someone PINCHED my laptop power cable and I had to replace it with an old one. That old one tripped out my electrics this morning and ordering new stuff from work at the moment is a nightmare. yay.

Good morning from Bolton.

Took Mr F to the hospital for his blood tests and MRSA swabs. Had to park up on a specific pay & display carpark and wait for the nurse to come and get him so still had to pay £3 for parking because of the ANPR cameras. It's all a big con. Had we not had to park where they say I'd have dropped him off at Outpatients, found a free parking spot on the short-stay carpark and saved £3.

As we were already out I popped to Asda on the way past for some fags that Tesco didn't send on my delivery. Hardly anybody was wearing a mask except for me and pensioners. The scummy mummys and their snotty-nosed little brats were out in force.

I really don't like doing work zoom meetings from home. It feels like an invasion of privacy. Keep out of my fucking house.

A couple of people were still not wearing masks in Sainsbury's the other day, which I found very, very poor indeed.

Everyone was wearing them at the train station the other day, though.

I'd say the majority of people by some distance aren't wearing them in supermarkets or shopping here. Probably about 75/25.

Oh I thought it was mandatory in shops (in Scotland) too now. I might be wrong though.

I think it is mandatory to wear them in shops up your end, thanks to having someone in charge who is actually competent and doesn’t want everyone to die.

I don’t wear a mask in shops, I actually rarely see anyone who does. I thought just following the one way system and staying the fuck away from people was enough.

Tesco have abandoned the one way system, haven't they?

Any other day would be 20 points ahead! We've given Monday a good go but I think it's time to give Tuesday a chance. Maybe it'll be less grey and miserable :(

Saw someone comment on a friend's Facebook yesterday that obviously face coverings don't work, because if they did, it would already be compulsory. Absolutely AGOG that there are people who still have that level of faith.

The one way systems never seemed to work. Even if you did follow them, there was always someone coming up the aisle the wrong way, or you'd get stuck behind someone unable to make their mind up on what type of crunchy nut they wanted to buy.

I have access to my archive back today. I'm therefore spending the day starring at the screen downloading anything and everything. This is LABORIOUS.

Yes mandatory in shops and public transport up here.

I was at Costco earlier and they wouldn't let anyone in without a face mask. Social distancing had gone right out of the window though.

So how did it go @Star?

It was OK thanks, settled in pretty quickly. But I was shocked at the lack of covid care. People just don't seem to care. Things not being done the way they should be and people just so close to you. I didn't feel overly safe.

Just one of them, ending with me basically losing my rag by email with some Yanks, but in the long run I won so NER NER to monday

On the plus side I can now plot positions and courses on nautical charts
