Looking at the actual album cover vs. what could have been is... highly upsetting...

It's SO Ultimately Kylie but make it disco - I can't believe this was NOT the artwork and I won't get to have that on vinyl

Eeew. That is the very definition of generic. It's like some fanmade Coverlandia shite or a cheapo dance compilation.

The actual cover is so much better.
 
I've caved and ordered the HMV transparent blue vinyl and the Deluxe CD-Cassette-Clear Vinyl-Photo bundle from her webstore.

My purse is weeping in the corner.
 
No idea if it’ll happen again, but the Golden Live Deluxe CD exclusive to her website leapt in price after it was released- I sold mine for £75 just a couple of weeks after I got it and just bought the ordinary. The only thing different was the packaging.

I bought the super deluxe Golden vinyl for £25 a month or so ago and it is now priced at £52. I'm going to hang on to it longer though - the Aphrodite vinyl goes for hundreds!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it probably won't go for huge amounts.

Use Discogs to work out how much things are really worth, rather than Amazon. Loads of copies there available from £22 ish...

Aphrodite (and Christmas/ Abbey Road/ Kiss Me Once to a lesser extent) goes for so much as it was before the vinyl resurgence really took flight- albums from that period that haven't been reissued go for an absolute bomb now as they actually weren't pressed in that many copies (see also MDNA and Hard Candy). By the time of Golden, it was the opposite- it's why you can still find copies of the vinyl/superdeluxe etc at their original, if not reduced, prices. See also the recent Step Back In Time collection, which was touted as having limited edition coloured vinyl copies and a year on, they still have them in my HMV...

I had noticed that the "limited" mint Step Back In Time vinyl is still on Amazon with no sign of running out of stock.

We have the Aphrodite vinyl and it's used but in excellent condition. No intention of selling it though! (Well I bought it as a present for @Tisch so I guess it's his decision...)

I want to keep it!

The risk is hanging on, then it gets reissued and dips in price. But I'm not so into the wheeling and dealing. I just like having and playing them.

@Sheena - does this happen, do you know? If the reissue is different (or even just a different catalogue number), I'd have thought it could make the 'original' even more exclusive, perhaps.
 
The Kylie product worth much is the white vinyl of the first version of her Xmas album.

It was well worth getting the super deluxe for the price. I bought the bundle with the intention of flogging everything but have lost money on it for sure, albeit not that much and I'm happy I have the Super Deluxe still...

It actually depends. If you think about Aphrodite, who is it who wants it? Collectors, or people who just want it on vinyl? The latter is the majority here- the collectors mostly would have bought it at the time as it wasn't a limited edition or anything in itself, it just ran out of its first print run. The prices of things like the Erotica vinyl/ KM94 crashed when Sainsbury's did their reissues and therefore made them more accessible, for example.

I know you're holding onto it @Tisch but if ever you were thinking of getting rid and just holding out for a reissue, I'd do it sooner rather than later- they are BOUND to do a proper, comprehensive Kylie reissue package at some point.

Thanks Shee. Very informative. I'll have to think about it. I genuinely just like owning it and I have played it a few times so it's nowhere near mint condition. But a bit of $$$ is never a bag thing...
 
I doubt I'm going to go deluxe. But I quite fancy the baby blue vinyl.

I’ve been to MULTIPLE TESCO STORES.

In fact, I might go and CHECK AGAIN TODAY as it’s KYLIE DAY.
 
That being said, I hope there is more Jon Green than Sky Adams on this record.

It only appeared in my local Tesco last week. £9 a bottle. I bought three even though I’m a red drinker. I’m considering it a limited edition Kylie product and keeping one bottle to flog extortionately in the future.
