Friday puts a mask on 5 months too late

I'm actually pleased about this because I'm seeing SO many people at work who come in without a mask (despite being told several times beforehand to bring one). And we work as such a close distance/ confined space that I think it's ridiculous if they're not wearing one.

They should have one of these to let you know they find it hard and are trying their best :(

“I find it hard to wear a mask all the time” I find it hard to accept dying because some selfish little cunt feels a bit sad about covering their face. Stick that on a fucking badge, Carrie Lou.

If they don’t like wearing masks they’ll definitely not like wearing a fucking VENTILATOR
They are TRYING THEIR BEST!

It was shared by someone on FB who is disgusted because masks give her "anxiety". Get a fucking grip love.

Is anxiety (and any of the other allowances that are being made in England) just not a thing in East Asian cultures where masks have been a norm for ages?!

I kinda believe that the ONLY exemption should be young children. I really struggle with non-mask wearers on public transport especially. If you do have a genuine medical reason, the idea of risking the tube baffles me

Yeah, this. If you’re susceptible, why the fuck would you go to crowded places with no face covering anyway?

I take 2 trains and 2 buses everyday and I would say that the train commuters are largely complying, but on the buses it just falls apart. One posh straight couple came on and not only weren’t wearing masks but were snogging each other’s faces off, laughing and in-joking to a silent and scathing bus.

I really feel for the transport workers who have to enforce this rule - it really does feel like rain bringing up the flowers in terms of exposing who the worst people are.

And don’t get me started on people wearing the surgical masks the wrong way round

Do transport workers have to enforce it? Bus drivers here are told to just 'politely remind people' (I haven't heard one mention it to anyone), and there are signs on the bus telling passengers NOT to tell the driver if someone isn't wearing one.

We got hate crimed last week and it can’t have helped that I was wearing my Valentina I’d Like to Keep It On Please facemask and he was wearing his Letitia Dean one

This won’t stop me though, because I am currently searching the internet for facemasks that reference Mariah Carey circa 2001 and Zu-Klara’s favourite female vocalist, Rosie Ribbons

I've just had my chapter review back for my dissertation from my supervisor. Brutal. I need a drink.

I was guilty of putting mine on upside down the first time I wore one. I'd popped into the office and office girl had to tell me that the fat white strip goes over your nose then you pinch it tight over it. Solved the problem of my glasses steaming up every time I took a breath.

I've got a fabric Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) one now.

@Suomi what happened? :(

It was at the train station, got called fucking f*gs, suck each other’s anatomy, and then some threats, which was the most worrying thing. It happened in front of sooo many people and yet nobody did anything. We contacted the British Transport Police and they were really helpful afterwards though.

I’ve only got a plain one at home, it’s more akin to a bra than a mask.

MORNING!

I woke up at 4:30 so went and swam a mile before 6, baked two loaves of bread which were a disaster for the first time in my baking career, set our new cleaner off who is apparently already “quite promising” according to Mr Sheena, have cleaned the car (well, not ACTUALLY me), taken Mum shopping and found KYLIE ROSE AT LAST! :disco:

Overall, today is a good day.

I'm not very keen on facemasks, largely because wearing a facemask whilst suffering from hayfever is every bit as unpleasant as you might think. Obviously, we don't have a choice so we'll just need to make the best of it.

Sorry to hear that @Suomi. The Valentina mask was my favourite design on the Binge Designs site but the fear of stares, comments or events like the one you described are what lead to me settling for a more neutral lumberjack design (and I didn't allow my other half to go for anything too 'fun' whilst I made the order either). Sad that this is the world we live in :(

I've been tempted by a Golden Girls one for months.

For what it's worth, I have the same mask and until recently had pink hair and the most I have had is the odd second glance on Argyle street. I wouldn't let a few arseholes spoil your fun.

Apparently London bus drivers have been spat at for asking people to wear one, so they don't really feel like trying to enforce it anymore. Which is fair enough.

@Suomi I assumed the Leticia Dean was one of your Suomi-isms but it's real! WERK IT MR S! Sorry to hear what you went through but good on you for not being put off continuing to wear it!

I do dislike wearing them but am getting into buying different ones for different outfits/occasions. My new RAINBOW one just arrived :disco:

In France a bus driver is now brain dead after some passengers beat him up for insisting they wear one :(

Nobody LIKES wearing one, do they? You get hot and sweaty, and perhaps it's just me, but paranoid about my breath. I've spent more on mints in the last three months than I have in the last decade.

I genuinely like wearing these ones

They're very comfortable and breathable and quite sexy actually :enya:

Talking of FRANCE they seem to have come out of it all QUITE WELL haven’t they?

FFS. We've just received a memo saying my type of shop is exempt from wearing masks. So the fact we work 30cm away from a person means nothing?? I would have thought we'd be no.1 priority
