Black Box - Ride On Time - my first TRUE goosebumps moment to house music, age 12.
Corona - Rhythm Of the Night - my memory of dance music going very commercial in 1993/4 and this was one of the cheesiest but still one of the best
Everything But The Girl - Missing - reminds me of high school, I was still too young to appreciate the Ibiza influence / importance here, but it introduced me to EBTG, now of my all time fave bands
Faithless - Insomnia - reminds me of Uni, rinsed that album, still maintain Salva Mea is better and the original trance anthem
Haddaway - What Is Love? - see Corona
JX- There's Nothing I Won't Do - this leans very closely into cheesy chav house but sometimes a vocal and a tune is just undeniable. JX are the business. This was during my first foray into clubland (local shit Lpool clubland) in 1996 before I discovered Cream. Great memories
Livin Joy - Dreamer - probably the peak of mid 90s vocal pop dance. There isn't really anything bigger than this. The natural follow on from the early 90s peak of "Where Love Lives"
Real McCoy - Another Night - see Corona
Robin S - Show Me Love - probably the bridge between Where Love Lives and Dreamer. Amazing how a tune can be so ubiquitous and remain so essential
Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer - I prefer The Power but I have fond memories of 1992, what a year for music. This was HUGE.

Another Night just lacks the exotics of Run Away and Love & Devotion for me. Even a number of their Amber tracks I rate higher.

1993, Germany, No. 2 smash! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Says Alla. Spider-Man’s girlfriend Patsy Petersen is in the video again, but the actual vocals are by Karin Kasar. Frontman O-Jay and Karin Kasar are still performing together, it’s just that nobody’s listening. This came fourth in Buzzfeed’s ‘100 greatest dance songs of the 90s’ and was voted the best pop song of the past 25 years by something called ‘Stacker’. No idea who or what they are, or if that even is their real name, but they clearly know what they’re on about.

1996, Italy/USA, No. 2 smash! Shortly before lacerating her vocal chords while attempting to achieve the world record for the most cacti deep-throated in a minute, Gala was an actual singer who unleashed this MOBO-nominated bop. Gala isn’t a pseudonym – her parents named her after Salvador Dali’s ex-wife. According to the Wikipedia, Gala is a graduate of the @Tisch School of the Arts in New York (It's a real thing!). Sadly, she dropped out of the @Iguana Institute of Metalwork and TIG Welding in order to focus on her music career. She’s still making music, even though nobody’s listening to it, and she’s still fit at a venerable 44 years old!
 
Poor Gala. Ignored in ButterTart's list of the top ten finishers and victim of that nasty Strepsils shortage that ripped through Italy in the mid nineties.
 
I missed only Alex Party as this was happening. They have quite the collection of remixes (for other acts). I guess as a brand it was more recognisable for them.
