Thursday loses the rag

The air con is at 23° and it’s still too cold

I'm off to the coast with my mother today. Can't believe I'm going to have to pay full price to eat out.

Surely a pensioner and a gay are entitled to some kind of discount in normal circumstances?

There is ONE thing that bothers me about this.

Whenever we go out, Mr L always pays. It's what we do. I always do the cooking at home, he always pays when we eat out.

My point is, if he's getting the benefit of this £10 each off, by rights he should be giving me what he's saving, right? Only FOR SOME REASON, he doesn't agree...

You should make him smaller portions between Mondays and Wednesdays

My favourite pub/restaurant is doing the scheme but is only offering a limited menu. I can't understand WHY. Surely it makes no difference to them...?

Well I COULD, but I'd rather convince him I'm right. I've got my eye on a nice pair of shoes I can 'earn' before the month is out.

Given that she is a bit shop soiled, I guess the discount is fair enough though.

How long is this scheme lasting? I'm HUNGRY

This is a good daily title because I’m CROSS. And I don’t even know why. Maybe I’m tired, hit, thirsty and hungry or ALL OF THE ABOVE

On the train home from work, failing with my rigger morris of a vocabulary practice app, irritates by Dua Lipa (today it’s the strained I——— bit in the ‘chorus’ of Hallucinate)

Why are the French so EXTRA with the bread. I just ordered a light lunch of sardines and was given a bread basket with TWELVE pieces of bread on the side.

Reminds me of ordering a sandwich in Paris and being given a bread basket with it.

Over HERE they like giving you lots of bread but also insist on dousing it in OLIVE OIL :disco:

It’s the fact you are often supposed to place your piece of bread on the TABLE rather than a plate that gets me. :zombie:

I'm mildly agog that my FB birthday fundraiser thing is actually getting donations. I've never done one before, they always seem a bit self indulgent, but I figured twas a worthy cause, at a rubbish time for a big birthday.

Obviously thanks @Tisch and @Kate xx

Not at all, it's a fab idea. I wish I'd thought to have done one.

I was so happy that mine back in April made a grand that I'm now making sure I donate to other people's whenever I see them!

I think I was sort of lucky in a way that my birthday was really early in lockdown so I got a lot of sympathy. Plus I'd invited tons of people to the party...

The bread is rarely ANY GOOD as well.

In France? Fuck that, you’re going to shit restaurants where they’re fobbing you off with yesterday’s.

Good French bread is DIVINE.

My flat is going on the market this afternoon

I have no plan what I’m about to do next :D

I was planning on buying in Glasgow, thinking I’d get more for my money, but I think properties are currently going for silly money over valuation there too.

so I might legit be homeless :D

Omg 2003 Cypriot Eurovision entry Stelios Constantas just like my Instagram pic.

I had a surfeit of basil and mint, as well as left over pine nuts, half a watermelon and the juice from the chickpeas I used to make hummus yesterday so for tonight’s dinner I’ve whipped up vegan, oil-free pesto and a watermelon, mint and feta salad.

I hate myself.
