Saturday jam

Strangely, I was considering trying to make a jam or pickle out of watermelon rind.

No jam for me but I'll be baking cake/bread with some overripe bananas. And it looks like one of the cats has chewed up my laptop charger. Ugh.

I have friends coming over in a couple of hours for the final part of my birthday. I REALLY CAN'T BE ARSED!

I am so rough. I legit fell asleep after 7 this morning and had to go the train station straight from my friends in last nights clothes

ugh

Morning, just calculating the height of tide at Port Fraser on Tuesday 29th October at 1432UT, brb

GOD

I went out to meet my friend and his two friends visiting Amsterdam yesterday after getting quite drunk at a housewarming party. They were "subtly" taking coke under the table at the bar and then we went back to his and ordered ketamine. At some point I fell into an UTTERLY TRAUMATIC K-hole which seemed like it lasted MANY MOONS and 100% had me convinced I would never get out of. Then I vomited several times and slept it off. I feel like I've survived something really quite DARK and AWFUL

Took Mr F for his ultrasound and decided that because it's £8 to park at the hospital now I'd just drop him off at the entrance and park off the hospital grounds. So glad I did because I'd been parked for seven minutes when he one-belled me to say come and get him. I'd have been so angry if I'd paid to park. Then we popped into town, discovered the tobacconist has reopened so paid £1.60 for an hour parking, popped in to see him and have a nice chat then popped over to Olympus for some sexy fish and chips and jar of their amazing tartare sauce.

I know Lady K has her fans on here but she’s never appealed to me. Sexy chip shop fayre, on the other hand...

My friend wants to meet up tomorrow, and I might just suggest a spot of SPECIAL COD now...

Up until the beginning of the month it was a flat £3 for 24 hours. Then they got Parking Eye in on 1st August and now it's £8.

I didn't mind paying £3. £8 is a pisstake.

I only ever went for the occasional mid afternoon treat. I was always partial to Alice’s, but then they closed down and left that amazing note on the door slagging off their Landlord.

That was the one a few doors down from Town Cafe, opposite Elephant & Castle, wasn't it? I only had fish and chips from there once, the fish was alright but the chips were slightly undercooked and a bit crunchy in the middle so I never bothered again.

That's the one. They used to do swordfish in there so I was a regular.

Decided to weed the pavement outside my front garden, now I can feel the muscles in my back contracting into my hips. I originally went out to strim the front grass which is, once again, knee-high but the patch of clover across the drive caught my eye first so I started on that and then had to do all the way along the wall because it looked silly having a clear part. Next job will be to reverse the car off the drive and de-weed that as the weeds are tall enough to touch the underside of the car but I can't feel my legs at the moment.

I wish I knew a proper gardener.

Work all day. It were shite. Now watching "At The Edge Of The Sofa" on YouTube.

Had I known this I'd have commented on the beautifully pure white cod that was today's dinner. It flaked wonderfully when the perfectly seasoned batter (crunchy at the ends, softer in the middle) was accosted by my fork.

Nobody likes undercooked chips. Once my teeth encounter that weird slimy crunch that's it, all bets are off and the chips have to go in the bin.

Let's face it, a perfect chip is a fucking work of art.

Undercooked chips really are VILE and a totally unacceptable state of affairs in a supposedly civilised country. I’d rather have nothing. Well that’s a lie, obviously. I’d rather have a pound of Stilton :disco:

To prep the ground a few days beforehand, pour boiling water with a bit of salt and washing up liquid mixed in over the weeds. It kills them down!
